동시 교육에서 언어유희성은 정서체험에 비하여 소극적으로 다루어지고 있다. 이것은 동시가 가지는 언어유희적 스펙트럼이 다양하고, 시어의 사물성이 동시의 중요한 특성이라고 할 때 개선되어야 할 지점이다.따라서 언어유희 동시의 텍스트성을 소통구조와 아동관을 기반으로 재고찰하고, 초등학교에서 이루어지고 있는 언어유희 동시 제재와 교육 활동을 비판적으로 살펴 개선 방향을 제안하였다. 언어유희 동시의 텍스트성은 ``반복성``, ``기표와 기의의 변화성``, ``무의미성``의 세 가지로 범주화할 수 있다. 그러나 현재 언어유희 동시의 교육은 이러한 범주를 모두 다루지 못하고 있으며 의성어·의태어를 축어적으로 인지하는 학습 활동이 주를 이루고 있다.그럼에도 불구하고 현행 교과서에는 감각적인 시어와 다양한 형식의 언어유희 동시가 다수 수록되어 언어유희 교육의 기반이 마련되었다고 볼 수 있다.따라서 언어유희 동시 교육을 제 궤도에 올리기 위해서는 단순한 시어의 확인이 아니라 언어유희적 맥락을 파악하며 재미를 느낄 수 있는 방법을 지도하는 학습활동이 설계되어야 한다. 이를 위해서 시의 언어유희성과 관련된 성취기준은 저학년에서 고학년까지 계열성을 확보해야 한다.

The education of poetry has been emphasized so far on understanding of human beings and the world by letting the readers read their own life within the poems. Of course, this can be said to be the essential aim for the education of literature, and in this respect the education of poetry has had a full significances. However, the reading of poetry has been mainly limited to the aspect of reflection only without understanding of its genre or extension toward the art theory. The enjoyment of poetry is not imitation of life but something like mind of play. the cardinal point of the meaningless poetics is to achieve free impression and to reach the playing space of mental liberation through th useless poetry. Therefore, education of verbal game songs have to change about its educational approaches. Firstly, divers verbal game songs should be literary educational materials in textbook. Secondly, layer and category of verbal game songs should be wide range over repetition, nonsense, sinifiers and sinified. Thirdly, we need sequence of educational contents about verbal game songs.
