본 연구의 목적은 발표 능력 발달에 적합한 새로운 교육과정을 제안하는 것이다. 본고의 제안은 세 가지 측면에서 기존 발표 교육과정과 다르다. 첫째, 발표 능력 발달의 구체적 상태를 고려하여 발표 교육 목표를 설정하였다. 발표능력을 과제 분석 능력, 준비 능력, 수행 능력으로 분석하였다. 이를 반영하여 발표의 ``계획-연습-실전`` 지식과 기능을 설계 하였다. 둘째, Backward Design의 설계 단계를 적용하였다. 발표 지식과 기능을 적용할 수 있는 상태를 목표로 선정하고, 목표를 확인할 수 있는 평가, 평가와 연계된 경험을 계획함으로써 목표에 부합하도록 교육과정을 통제하였다. 셋째, 발표 과정별 목표-평가-경험을 배열함으로써 교육의 어느 시기에서든 수행 경험이 누락되지 않도록 구성하였다.

This study aims to suggest a new curriculum that is valid in developing public speaking ability. The suggestion in this study is different from the existing public speaking curriculum in following three points. First, goals for public speaking education are set considering the concrete conditions. Public speaking ability is analyzed into task analysis ability, preparation ability, and performance ability. And the public speaking ability is considered in designing knowledge and skills for ``planning-practicing-actual performance`` steps. Second, the Backward Design steps are applied. Being able to put knowledge and skills about public speaking in practice is set as a goal. Then, assessments are followed to confirm whether the goal is in realized or not, and experiences correlated the assessments are arranged. Lastly, ``setting goals-assessments-experiences`` steps are arranged in every process of public speaking to prevent omitting actual performance.
