일반적으로 편집후기는 잡지 등의 말미에 편집자가 써 넣은 기사, 편집방침, 편집상의 뒷이야기, 앞으로의 포부, 편집진의 프로필이나 짤막한 감상 등을 말한다. 하지만 『삼천리』의 편집후기는 식민지기 검열에 대한 당대의 감각이나, 역사적 사실, 출판시장에 대한 해석, 저널리즘의 식민지적 책무 등에 대해 진지하게 논의했던 ‘텍스트’였다. 그런 만큼, 『삼천리』의 편집후기는 편집인의 독백, 편지글, 감사와 사죄, 일기, 선언문, 제안문, 선동문 등의 다양한 형태로 서술되어 있다. 『삼천리』의 편집후기는 잡지의 생존을 위해 필요한 상업적 기반과 피식민자들의 매체로서 기능해야 할 사회적 책무 사이의 긴장을 해소할 수 있는 ‘텍스트적 장치’로서 작성된 것이다. 편집후기는 다른 기사들처럼 매체 내부에 존재하면서도 그러한 기사들의 ‘진술 가능성의 조건’을 명시할 수 있는 ‘텍스트화 이전의 텍스트’이다. 따라서 『삼천리』가 편집후기에 유독 집중했다는 사실을 통해, 이들이 텍스트로 재현된 세계와 식민지의 사회적 현실 간의 ‘매개적 기능’을 전략적으로 중시했다는 것을 알 수 있 으며, 이는 『삼천리』의 관료적 자기 인식과 연동되어 ‘대안적 공론장(alternative publicsphere)’이라는 대중잡지의 정치적 수행성을 가능케 했다는 것을 알 수 있다.

Generally, editor`s notes include articles, editing policy, behind story of editing, future hopes, profile or short impression of editors etc written by editors at the end of magazine etc. However, editor`s notes written for 『Samchunli』were ‘Text’ which earnestly discussed about the comtemporary feelings on the examination of colonial era, historical facts, interpretation on publication market, journalism`s duty to the colony etc. Thus, the editor`s notes were written in a variety of forms including editor`s monologue, letter, gratitude and apology, diary, declaration, suggestion, instigation etc. The notes were prepared as a ``Textual Device`` as a means of easing the tension between commercial factors required for the magazine to survive and its social duty to the oppressed as a medium. Editor`s notes are ``Different Text`` mediating ``Inside`` and ``Outside`` of articles and they exist inside medium like other articles. Therefore, the fact that Samchunli focused solely on its editor`s notes means it valued the ``Mediative function`` of the ``Inside and outside`` text. This led to be linked to its bureaucratic self-awareness forming political conditions for popular magazines.
