한 개인의 삶은 시간과 공간에 의해 지배된다. 공간은 개인의 선택 이전의 문제인 경우가 많다. 하지만 존재의 공간을 선택한 사람들이 있다. 개인적 엑소더스를 보여준 경우이다. 재러 시인 리진은 이에 해당하는 경계인이었다. 북한에서 태어나고 교육을 받았지만, 6·25전쟁에 참전, 그 뒤 러시아에 유학하였다가 귀국치 않고 그곳으로 망명했어야 했던 그의 궤적은 비극적인 한국 현대사와 맞물려 있다. 그에게 모국어로 쓴 시는 소통을 전제로 하지 않는 자기만의 독백일 수밖에 없었다. 하지만 한 망명자의 고립된 언어 속에는 그가 떠나온 민족의 DNA가 끝없는 자기분열을 하면서 정체성을 유지하고 있다. 그의 무수한 시편들은 정체성을 잃지 않기 위한 자기분열의 언어적 흔적들이다. 갇힌 자로서의 그의 시가 지닌 내함의 의미가 큰 이유다. 리진의 시에는 총과 자작나무, 새, 저녁 등이 자주 등장한다. 총은 그의 정신적 긴장과 염결성, 미완의 꿈 등을 드러내 준다. 새는 그 총의 긴장을 풀어 시적 울림을 만들어 낸다. 이와 함께 저녁은 삶의 고달픔으로부터 회귀하는 시간이며 동시에 부활을 가능하게 하는 시간이기도 하다. 국적을 포기했으면서 국적을 지니지 않는 자, ``민족시인 리진``에게 모국어로 쓴시는 민족이란 원죄에 대한 대속을 의미한다. 민족이란 원죄는 역사로부터 시인에게 주어진 상황이다. 시인은 도피하고 않고, 시로써 완강히 이에 맞서고 있다. 그의 맞섬은 타자에 대한 공격이 아니라, 스스로 상처를 내고 그 내부로 아픔을 곰삭여 내는 아름다운 ``노래``로 환원하는 것이다. 치열하고도 눈물겨운 그의 시에는 속박된 자의 아픔이 들어있다.

One `s life is governed by the time and space one spends. In many cases, space is not a matter of choice but some choose the space. That is a showcase of personal exodus. Korean-Russian Poet poet, LEEJIN is the case. He was born and educated in North Korea, but after fighting in the Korean War, he went to Russia to study and sought asylum. His trace of life is in line with tragic modern Korean history. Staying in Kazakhstan, he is writing poems. Poem written in Korean is his personal monologue that is not communicated to the audience there. Within the isolated language, however, his national DNA goes through continuous fission and keeps his own identity. All of his poem is a trace of his painful fission to keep his own identity. To the ``National poet LEEJIN`` who gave up and does not acquire own nationality, poem written in his mother tongue is his way of redemption. Nationality was given to him from a history as an original sin. The poet did not flee from it and stands up to it with poems. He is standing up not through an attack but through harming himself. His internal pain is sublimated into beautiful songs. Those are such fierce and painful outcomes. Pain of his restrained life is embedded in his poem. It governs his entire life and continuously exists there. His restrained poems fly to us like birds moving and enlightening us.
