본 연구에서는 2007 개정 교육과정에 기반한 중학교 국어 교과서를 대상으로 하여 국어 교과서에 나타난 다문화 문식성 실현 양상을 다문화 제재를 중심으로 하여 살펴보았다. 구체적으로는 국어 및 생활국어 체제 및 내용 영역별 실현, 제재의 주제 범주화, 다문화 문식성과 연계한 활동 요소로 나누어 분석하였다. 분석 대상 교과서는 2007 개정 교육과정을 반영한 중학교 국어 및 생활국어 교과서 총 50종으로 학기별로 200권의 교과서를 포함하였다. 1) 2007 개정 중학교 국어 교과서는 교과서 체제별로 다문화 제재 수록 양상은 큰 차이가 없었다. 2) 국어 교과서의 집필 기준과 달리 ``읽기``와 ``쓰기``, ``문법`` 영역의 다문화 제재 수록 빈도가 더 높게 나타났다. 3) 중2 교과서의 다문화 제재 수록 빈도가 가장 높았고, 중3 교과서가 가장 낮았다. 4) ``3. 한국 사회의 다문화적 양상 소개``를 다룬 다문화 수록 제재가 가장 많이 수록되었고, ``2.미국 등의 사회에서 경험한 차별, 분쟁 및 극복에 대한 소개``를 다룬 제재는 가장 적게 수록되었다. 5) ``4. 다문화 사회로 변화할 한국사회의 미래지향적 과제 제시``와 ``1. 다른 문화에 대한 이해(공통점과 차이점에 대한 인식)``을 다룬 다문화 제재는 유사한 수준으로 수록되었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate content and application aspects of multicultural literacy in secondary korean language textbook and to analyze multicultural issue reflected in multicultural material of the textbook and the relation learning activity and multicultural literacy. Especially, targeted textbooks(N=200) was for secondary students(7-9th grade) and authorized by Korea Ministry of Education based 2007 revised Korean Curriculum. Results is as in the following. (1) there was not difference of multicultural materials selection between 『Korean Language』 and 『Living Korean Language』. (2) multicultural materials were much more included in reading, writing and grammar domain of Korean textbook and in the 8th grade textbook. (3) the materials related `3. multiculturalism report of korea society` were the most included and the materials related ``2. discrimination, conflicts and overcoming experiences in United States as a multi-racial country`` were the least included in the secondary korean textbook.
