송강 정철의 다양한 시편들 가운데서도 음주시는 그가 평생을 통해 추구했던 사유와 정서의 세계를 집약해 놓은 양상을 띠며, 파란만장한 생애와 궤적을 함축해 놓았다고 할 수 있다. 이 논문은 이같은 송강 음주시의 양상과 풍격을 고찰함으로써, 송강의 문학세계를 포괄적으로 조명할 수 있는 방법론적 성찰과 더불어, 작가의 개성에 결부된 작품의 미적 특성을 구명하는 논리적인 틀을 모색하고자 한 것이다. ``술-음주``에 대한 송강의 인식과 감정, 그리고 이를 형상화한 작품들이 환기하는 정서적 국면에 초점을 맞출 때, 그의 음주시편들은 크게 ``풍류의 흥취``, ``시름의 정회``, ``달관의 여운``을 형상화한 세 양상으로 갈래지을 수 있다. 술-음주에 결부된 이러한 사유와 정서적 형상화 양상들에는 송강의 시인으로서의 개성과 시세계가 지닌 특징적 면모들이 여실히 드러나 있다. 나아가 이들 송강 음주시가 지닌 풍격은 ``풍류의 흥취``가 두드러진 시편들의 경우 ``호방하면서도 장쾌한`` 풍도와 격조를 지녔다는 면에서 ``호장(豪壯)``의 풍격을, ``시름의 정회``가두드러진 경우는 ``처연비통하고 간절탄식하는`` 풍도와 격조를 지녔다는 면에서 ``처완(悽?)``의 풍격을, 그리고 ``달관의 여운``이 두드러진 경우에 있어서는 ``환히트여 구애됨 없는`` 풍도와 격조를 지녔다는 면에서 ``광달(曠達)``의 풍격을 지닌것으로 함축할 수 있으리라 본다. 송강의 음주시에 두드러진 이와 같은 사유와 정서적 형상 및 풍격의 다채로움은, 송강이라는 시인이 매사 적극적인 품성과 분방하면서도 다감한 기질의 소유자임을 여실히 보여준다고 할 수 있다. 송강에게 있어서 술은 평생의 벗으로서 예술창작의 추동력으로 긴밀히 관여했으며, 음주를 통해 일종의 자기각성이자 자기실현을 절실히 추구했다 할 것이다.

This paper discusses aspects and characteristics of poems of Songkang Jung Chul that have drinking as the topic. Songkang composed pieces on drinking in various genre including Chinese poetry, Sijo, Saseolsijo, and Gasa. Songkang enjoyed drinking very much and he expressed his feelings towards drinking in different ways. Noticeable aspects on his love for drinking, reasons to drink, resolutions to refrain from drinking, and romantic excitement accompanied by drinking are well depicted in his poems. Major trends in Songkang`s poems on drinking are excitement and sorrow. Characteristics inhered in these poems can be summarized as well-applying Songkang`s inherited disposition and personality, integrating reasons and emotions that he sought after his entire life, and implying deeds of his life full of ups and downs. Significance of the result of this paper lies in finding methods to comprehensively shed light on Songkang`s literary world and proposing a logical frame to explain aesthetic characteristics of pieces associated with the poet`s personality.
