이 글은 민족정체성 연구와 관련하여 양적/질적 연구방법론의 대립과 극복 문제를 다루고 있다. 양적/질적 연구방법론의 대립은 인문학과 사회과 학이라는 근대적인 연구전통과 관련되어 있다. 따라서 이글은 ``코리언의 민족정체성 연구``의 실증적이고 경험적인 자료들을 근거로 하여 양적 연구와 질적 연구 각각이 가지고 있는 장점과 한계를 검토한다. 둘째, 이런 검토를 통해서 이 글은 양적/질적 연구방법의 변증법적 결합을 주장할 것이다. 그러나 이런 결합은 양적 연구는 가설, 질적 연구는 결론이라는 역할 분담 또는 기계적 결합이 되어서는 안 된다. 오히려 이 글은 그것이 보다 많은 이론들을 생산하는 ``생산적 연구``로서, ``해체적 기획－설계``와 ``해체적 독법``에 근거한 결합이 되어야 한다고 주장한다. 마지막으로, 이 글은 소통으로서 연구방법을 제안할 것이다. 그것은 연구자 자신의 아비투스를 해체함으로써 ``타자의 타자성``을 발견하며, 연구자와 연구대상자의 위치를 드러냄으로써 연구자와 연구대상자, 그리고 연구자들 상호 간에 삼중적 소통을 만들면서 ``생성적`` 연구방법이라고 할 수 있다.

In this paper, I will make a search for direction to overcome the opposition of quantitative/qualitative research methodology by research on national identity. This antagonism is rooted in the modern tradition of research, humanities vs social science. Thus this paper respectively examines the advantages and limitations of quantitative research and qualitative research, basis on the empirical and empirical data on Korean national identity Second, through this review, this article will claim the dialectic combination of quantitative/qualitative research methods. However, this combination should not be roles or mechanical coupling that quantitative research is hypothesis, qualitative research is hypothesis. Rather, this paper argue that it should be a combination based on the ``deconstructive planning-design`` and ``deconstructive reading``. Finally, this paper will propose a research method as a communication. It is a generative research method that found out ``otherness of others`` by dismantling the researcher`s habitus and go to make a threefold communication between researcher and research subject, and researchers by revealing the location of the researchers and research subjects.
