본 연구는 청소년들의 언어사용 특선을 이해하고자 근거이론을 통한 질적 연구 방법으로 진행되었으며, 이를 위해서 중학교에 재학 중이며 또래의 청소년 언어사용에 익숙한 13-15세 사이의 청소년 11명을 4개월 동안 면담, 관찰하였다. 청소년이 사용하는 언어가 구성되어 가는 과정을 살펴보면, 기존 학교나 가정에서 허용해주는 문화들에 대해 청소년들이 채택, 거부 또는 단절, 개혁을 시도하는 가운데 일어난다. 그 과정 중에 또래 집단 간의 친밀함을 지속하기 위해 자신이 경험하게 되는 청소년 언어에 대해 적응하려 노력하게 되면, 그 노력은 무관심, 동경 등이나 저항과 거부를 나타내는 형태로 드러난다. 연구 참가자들의 유형은 자아 성장형, 관심 요구형, 동경형의 3가지 유형으로 나타났다. 이 는 자신들이 경험하는 청소년 언어에 대해 적응하려고 노력하는 가운데 생겨나는 애매하고 두려운 점을 극복하고자 하는 데에서 기인한다. 또한 청소년 언어의 고유한 특성은 문화적 맥락에 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 학교 교육 일반, 청소년 교육 정책, 그리고 후속 연구에의 시사점을 제안 하였다.

Purpose: This is the study about experiences of middle school students in adolescents` use of language Methods and process: This study based on the grounded theory method, Strauss & Corbin, 1998, Interviews and observations were conducted with 11 adolescents who were thought by the researchers as ordinary families. They were from 13 to 15 years old. This paper had conducted during 4 months. Result: The core category of this study is ``adolescents`` adaptation and overcome the conflicts in the every situation. Based on the core category, three types of students`` experiences were found Three types of students are ``self-development``, concern-demand``, and`` adoring``. Conclusion: For making amalgamation period, we need to understand the adolescents and have to change the important points.
