중국의 WTO 가입 이후 급증하기 시작한 미중 양국 간 경제협력은, 협력과 갈등이 엇갈려 동시에 진행되면서 심각한 불안정성을 보여 왔다. 양국에 대한 경제의존도가 높은 우리 한국경제는 양국관계의 불안정성으로 인하여 충격적 영향을 받고 있는 상황이다. 불안정성은 무역 불균형으로 인한 통상분쟁과 환율갈등에서 비롯되었으나, 글로벌 금융위기 이후 이러한 분쟁은 체제경쟁적인 성격으로 발전하고 있다. 양국의 협력이 거대한 상호 구조적 보완성에 토대를 두고 계속 급증하는 동시에, 양국의 갈등은 무역 불균형의 확대와 중국의 급부상에 대한 미국의 경계심리가 배경이다. 이런 상황에서 양국 관계는 협력과 갈등의 연계성, 갈등의 제한성과 지속성을 보이며 변화를 거듭하고 있다. 한국은 정치, 경제 양면에서 더 이상의 시행착오를 범하지 않도록 양국관계의 불안정성이 지닌 성격을 토대로 접근해야 한다.

The economic cooperation between America and China have started a sudden increase after China`s entry the WTO, at the same time the two country have shown the instability with cooperate and trouble. Korea`s economic dependency on the two country is very high, so Korea`s economy is subject to the instability of the relationship between the two country. The instability came from the trade dispute and currency conflict, but it also increased system competition between the two country after the global financial crisis. Under the such an environment, the bilateral relationship have been changing with showing the specific connection between cooperate and trouble. And it also have been showing the character of the limit and the continuation on the trouble.
