<난리가(亂離歌)>는 1728년에 발생한 무신란(戊申亂) (일명 이인좌(李麟佐)의 난)을 진압하기 위해 관군(官軍)으로 참전한 훈련도감(訓練都監) 소속의 한 마병(馬兵)이 산문으로 기록한 한글일기 작품이다. <난리가>의 작가가 누구인지 그 정확한 정보는 알기 어렵다. 다만 작품내 몇몇 단서를 통해 <난리가>를 쓴 작가는 훈련도감(訓練都監) 소속 마병(馬兵)이며, 가족들과 함께 수도 한양에 거주했던 인물로 추정된다. <난리가>는 무신란이 끝난 이후 1728년 12월 무렵에 원고를 완성하였던 것으로 보인다. <난리가>는 하층 병사에 의해 창작된 한글일기라는 점에서 주목되는 작품이다. 현존하는 한글일기가 많지 않아 자료적 희소성의 측면에서도 중요하겠지만, 무엇보다도 무신란에 직접 참전한 한 하급 병사의 손에 의해 창작되었다는 점이 조선시대 일기문학사의 흐름 속에서 더욱 의미 깊다고 하겠다. 현존하는 한글일기는 대부분 상층 사대부층, 특히 남성 사대부들에 의해 창작 향유되었던 점을 고려할 때, <난리가>의 존재는 특히 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 그리고 무능한 지휘관의 부정적 행태를 신랄하게 풍자하고 비판한 점, 하급 병사들의 고단하고 힘겨운 군영 생활의 단면을 부각시키기도 하고 그들의 전투 상황과 활약상을 생생하게 표현한 점, 아이러니의 기법, 시조 작품 등에서 항용 사용되는 돈호법의 수사기교 그리고 천근한 일상 구어를 적절하게 운용한 점 등은 <난리가>가 보여주는 독특한 면모이다. 그리고 이같은 작품적 특징은 도시 하층민으로 살아가던 훈련도감 소속 병사들의 정서와 의식을 반영하고 있다는 점에서 주목된다.

This thesis aim to examine to explain themes and expression mode of a cavalry`s Naliga which was written in Korean in the 18th century. And I was concerned about it`s status within diary literature in the late Chosun dynasty. Naliga was written by a cavalry which was affiliated in Hunryondogam(訓鍊都監). He saw active service in Lee In-jwa`s Rebellion(Musin Rebellion) as a cavalry. The cavalry lived in Seoul. And the cavalry as lower class people was poor and they leaded the hard life. He was concerned about expressing the satire on incompetent commanders and the praise on generous commanders. He powerfully expressed his position, opinion and emtion. And also he tried to express the cavalry`s hard day during the war. Naliga reflected collective emotion of lower class people including cavalry. Naliga made use of various literary techniques, for example irony, satire and apostrophic technique. Especially Naliga made the best use of irony. There was a note of irony in his voice. This work has been filled with lots of irony. Such characteristics reflects the emotion and consciousness of the cavalry who was the lower classes in Chosun dynasty. In this way Naliga has important meanings in diary literature in the Chosun dynasty. It has important significances in the 18th century. I believe that analyzing characteristics of Naliga can contribute to understanding the literature history of diaries in Chosun dynasty. Also, I expect that this kind of approaching could play a role in creating another methodology to analyze diaries as a branch of literature.
