이 글의 목적은 현재까지의 작문 평가 도구와 방법을 되돌아보고 발전된 작문 평가를 위하여 평가 도구와 방법에 대한 개선 방향을 설정하는 것이다. 작문 평가는 작문 능력을 평가해야 한다. 그래서 이 글에서는 작문 능력을 ‘인지적 능력, 정의적 능력, 사용’ 범주의 상보적인 합으로 구성된다고 잠정적으로 규정하였다. 작문 평가의 목적인 학생들의 작문 성취를 돕기 위한 평가 도구의 개선 방향으로 ‘작문 상황 설정, 독자 설정, 작문 과제 설정, 정의적 능력의 평가 도구 개발, 사용 범주의 평가 도구 개발’을 설정하였다. 작문 평가 방법의 개선 방향으로는 ‘작문 평가의 기준 설정, 채점 방법 개선’을 설정하고, 채점 방법 개선 방향은 수험자에게 구체적인 채점기준 제시와 신뢰도를 높이는 측정 방법인 일반화가능도 이론과 라쉬 모형의 사용을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this writing is to seek the improvement directions for assessment tool and method in order to look back upon a tool and a method of writing assessment, which have been formed so far, and to assess the developed writing. The writing assessment needs to be evaluated the writing ability. Thus, this writing potentially prescribed that the writing ability is synthetically formed the categories of ``cognitive ability, affective ability, and use``. Improvement directions for assessment tool for helping students` writing achievement, which is the objective of writing assessment, were suggested the establishment of writing situation, the establishment of readers, the establishment of writing assignments, the development of assessment tool of affective ability, and the development of assessment tool in the use category. The improvement directions for a method of writing assessment were presented the establishment of the standard for writing assessment and the improvement in a scoring method. The improvement plans for a scoring method were presented the specific scoring standard and were suggested the generalizability theory and Rasch model, which are measurement methods of increasing reliability.
