이 연구는 자기중심성의 본질을 이해하고 이를 교육의 관점에서 해석한 후 쓰기에 있어서 자기중심성은 어떠한 의미를 지니는지를 밝히고 그것이 쓰기에 작용하는 양상을 살펴 소통적 쓰기를 위한 연구의 단초를 마련하는데 그 목적이 있다. 자기중심성은 모든 연령층에 나타나는 인간 본연의 속성으로 교육의 관점에서는 인지적인 측면에서 비중을 두어 살펴볼 수 있으며, 배제의 대상이라기보다는 조정의 대상으로 이해되어야 한다. 쓰기와 관련해서 자기중심성은 필자 중심의 접근 방식으로, 내용을 생성하고 선정하여 표현하는 일련의 과정에서 소통을 방해하는 인지적 한계라고 정의할 수 있다. 이러한 자기중심성은 기본적으로 쓰기 기초 기능과 쓰기 지식을 알고 쓴 글, 즉 읽을 수 있는 글을 분석 대상으로 삼아 확인가능하며, 이러한 분석을 통해 자기중심성이 쓰기 과제를 인식하는 시점에서 글을 쓰는 과정, 글의 내용을 생성하고 선정하여 표현하는 데에 작용하고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 이상의 논의는 필자가 글을 쓰는데 어려움을 느끼거나 소통적 글쓰기를 못하는 근본적인 원인을 추적하여 이에 대한 교육적 논의의 필요성을 이끌어냈다는 점에서 의미가 있으며, 독자를 고려한 글쓰기 연구에도 유의미한 시사점을 제공한다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to understand the nature of egocentrism, interpret it in terms of education, define the meaning of egocentrism, and determine its working aspect. Egocentrism is in the nature of humans. In in terms of education, it is determined by cognitive aspects and understood by target of adjustment, rather than target of exclusion. Egocentrism in writing is an author-centred approach and cognitive limitations to interfere with communication in generating, selecting and expressing contents. It is analyzed and understood through text, affirming it is working in cognition of writing tasks and the writing process, generating contents and expressing contents. The aforementioned discussion refers to the need for educational discussion about egocentrism by tracing the root cause to prevent communicative writing and offers significant implications of study for audience consideration.
