작문 교육에서 장르에 대한 인식은 그 경중을 달리하면서도 항상 논점이 되어 왔다. 작문 과정은 글을 쓰는 목적과 그 글의 형태를 결정하는 과정이라고 해도 과언이 아니기 때문이다. 이 글에서는 장르의 중요성을 감지하고 작문 교육과 교육과정에서 다루어 왔던 장르 인식을 분석하고 실행 방안을 살펴보았다. 장르는 글의 목적과 형태를 결정하는 텍스트 기반 요소이면서 사회적으로 따라야 할 규칙이며 관습이다. 이러한 작문의 인지적, 사회적 특성은 장르중심 작문교육에서도 적극 반영되어 예시 글을 분석하여 장르의 일반적 특성을 배운 후 자신의 주제와 목적에 맞는 글을 생산하게 하는 역동적, 창조적 과정까지 포함하였다. 작문 교육과정에서 장르 개념을 적극적으로 도입하기 시작한 것은 2007 개정 교육과정기 부터이다. 이와 같은 분석을 바탕으로 장르의 작문 교육적 접근 방향을 모색하고 인지적 장르의 인식과 사회적 장르의 표현 측면에 따른 작문 교육의 실제적 방안을 제시하였다. 특히, 현재 적용 중인 2007 개정 교과서를 중심으로 작문 교육의 실천적 장면에서 발생하는 장르 문제를 진단하고 이에 따른 단계적 작문 교수 학습의 방안을 제시하였다.

It is very important that writing education the recognition about genre. The writing course to decide the form and the goal. This paper investigate understanding and direction of genre in writing education and curriculum. The genre is the text base element which decides the goal and a form of the writing. And a convention is a rule which will do to follow cognitive and social quality. Became like this composition, social quality genre central writing education the active reflection stamp. Analyzes the adumbration writing and learns the general quality of genre. It makes the writing produce which hits to the subject and an intension of oneself afterwords that easy movement. Introduces a genre concept actively from writing curriculum, the fact that starts is 2007 revision curriculum. The genre have to do and importance in the expressive side of cognitive and social genre of genre, must be applied. Specially, currently 2007 revision textbooks which are in the process of applying diagnosed the genre problem which in the center occurs from practical scene of composition education and the plan of phased composition professor studying which follows hereupon presented.
