이 연구의 목적은 작문교육사전 편찬 동기와 목적, 작문교육사전의 구조 등을 제시하고, 그 동안의 작문교육사전 편찬 과정을 되돌아보는 데 있다. 이 연구의 주요 내용을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 연구에서는 작문교육사전 편찬이 지향해야 할의 목적으로 소통 지향, 표준 지향, 도구 지향을 설정하였다. 둘째, 작문교육사전의 구조로 최대 구조, 거시 구조, 미시 구조 등을 제안하였다. 셋째, 작문교육사전 편찬 과정은 기초 연구 단계를 넘어 표제어 선정과 원고 작성 지침 개발 단계에 와 있다. 넷째, 작문교육사전 편찬이 마무리 되었을 때, 작문교육사전 활용도를 높이기 위한 방안으로 수요도 조사와 전자사전 방식 도입이 필요함을 제안하였다.

The objective of this study is to suggest the motives of compiling ``writing education dictionary`` as well as the structure of ``writing education dictionary``. Also, review on the compilation of ``writing education dictionary`` is conducted. The important content of this study is listed in the following. First, in this study, goals of the compilation of ``writing education dictionary`` were set as being communication oriented, standard oriented, and tool oriented. Secondly, the structure of the ``writing education dictionary`` was suggested as the greatest structure, macroeconomic structure, and microeconomic structure. Thirdly, the compilation process of ``writing education dictionary`` goes beyond the basic research stages and reaches the selection of lemma list and guidelines development of manuscript. Fourthly, as measures to increase the application of ``writing education dictionary`` when it is completed, the needs of research for demand and introduction approach of ``writing education dictionary`` were suggested.
