창의적 글쓰기는 작문교육에서 중요하게 다루어야 할 대상 중 하나이다. 그러나 기존의 창의적 글쓰기 교육에 대한 논의에서는 구체적인 글쓰기 방법에 대한 논의가 부족한 면이 없지 않다. 본고는 창의적 글쓰기 교육이 기존의 글쓰기 규범이나 관습적 방식에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 설계되어야 한다는 관점에서 조선후기 제문 글쓰기의 관습성을 살펴보고, 연암 박지원의 제문 글쓰기에 나타난 창의성을 분석해보고자 하였다. 조선후기는 제문이 망인의 죽음을 애도하는 대표적인 글쓰기 양식으로 자리잡은 시기이다. 조선후기에 쓰인 제문을 분석해 본 결과 제문 글쓰기는 ``망인에 대한 칭송 → 망인과 화자의 관계 부각 → 망인의 죽음에 대한 애도``의 방식을 기본형으로 하고 있음이 드러났다. 제문 글쓰기의 주체는 생전에 망인과 맺었던 관계와 그의 삶에 대한 해석과 의미 부여를 바탕으로 칭송과 애도를 교차 서술하며 제문을 써 나간다. 그 결과 제문은 망인에 대한 칭송이나 슬픔의 과잉이라는 관습적 면모를 보이게 된다. 연암은 제문 양식이 지닌 관습적 측면을 숙지하면서도 상황에 따라 적절한 전략을 구사함으로써 제문 글쓰기의 새로운 가능성을 보여주었다. 「제정석치문」에서 연암은 망인에 대한 칭송을 배제하고 슬픔을 직접토로하는 한 마디의 말도 없이 정석치의 죽음이 자신에게 가져온 상실감과 애도의 정서를 절실하게 표현하고 있다. 이는 기존의 제문 글쓰기가 갖게 마련인 관습적 방식을 탈피하면서도 슬픔의 정서를 효과적으로 드러냈다는 점에서 창의적이라 평가할 만하다. 창의적 글쓰기 교육은 관습적인 글쓰기 방식에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 하여 학습자가 창의성을 발휘할 수 있도록 설계되어야 한다. 이를 위해 서는 전통적인 글쓰기 방식과 이를 변용한 창의적 작품에 대한 계속적인 관심과 연구가 필요하다.

Creative writing is the important subject of writing education. But in the preexistent study of creative writing the reference of concrete writing method is insufficient. This thesis was intended to examine tradition of the late Chosun Dynasty Jemun writing and to analyze creativity of the Yeonam`s Jemun writing in the standpoint creative writing education should be designed on the basis of traditional writing. Jemun put down roots as the typical writing style of grief in the late Chosun Dynasty. The fundamental form of Jemun writing is ``eulogy of the dead person → emboss of the relationship between the dead person and the speaker → grief of the death``. The writer of the traditional Jemun writing shows eulogy of the dead person or excessive grief. Yeonam showed the new possibility in Jemun writing. Yeonam expressed sorrow the death of Jungsukchi brought him without eulogy of the dead person and reference of the sad word in the 「JeJungsukchimun」. This work can be estimated to be creative in point of effectively expressing writer`s emotion without using traditional method. Creative writing education should be designed for learners to show creativity on the basis of traditional writing. To achieve the progress of creative writing ability it is necessary to study traditional writing method and creative work.
