이 글은 제7차 고등학교 작문교과서에 구현된 ‘협동 작문’ 단원의 내용을 비판적으로 살펴보고, 바람직한 방향을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 먼저 제7차 국어과 작문 교육과정을 살펴보고, 협동 작문의 개념과 유형에 대한 이론을 고찰해 보았다. 그런 다음 현재 학교 현장에 공급된 13종의 작문교과서의 현황을 살펴보고, 협동 작문 단원의 본문 내용과 학습 활동을 분석하였다. 첫째, 현재 고등학교 작문교과서는 13종이 발행되고 있다. 전체적인 교과서의 체제는 단원의 수와 배열을 신축적으로 고려하여 구성되어 있다. 각 교과서는 대단원이나 중단원에 ‘정보화 사회에서의 글쓰기’라는 제목으로 단원을 설정하였고, 그 하위에 ‘협동 작문’과 관련된 단원을 구성하였다. 둘째, 협동 작문 내용은 사용하는 개념과 개념에 대한 설명, 교과서 전체 면수 대비 협동 작문 단원 면수의 비교, 본문 학습 자료와 활동 도움 자료를 조사하였다. 그리고, 학습 활동에서는 유형을 세 가지로 구분하여 그 특징을 살펴보았고, 부적절한 사례와 적절한 활동 사례를 제시하였다. 문제점으로 학습 활동에 대한 구체적인 방법과 절차의 제시 부족, 내용의 부적절성과 미비점을 드러내었다. 따라서 ‘협동 작문’에 대한 개념 규정과 유형화에 대한 보다 깊은 이론적 논의가 뒤따라야 한다. 앞으로 개정될 8차 교육과정에 이것을 보다 체계적이고 구체적으로 포함시켜야 한다. 더불어 내용의 적절성, 그리고 학습 가능성을 동시에 고려하여 보다 충실한 교과서를 개발해야 한다.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the critics of ``Collaborative Writing`` units in the Writing textbooks according to the 7th National Curriculum. First, the 7th National Curriculum is to examine and Collaborative Writing is to investigate about it`s concept, type. Second, it is to analyze the writing-textbooks present condition and the critics of ``Collaborative Writing`` units. The result of analyzing ``Collaborative Writing`` units in the Writing textbooks according to the 7th National Curriculum of korean language arts is that Learning contents of Units is expressed a defect for activities method and procedure, an imperfection for contents pertinency and learning capability. Consequently, We must discuss more theoretically about prescription concepts and activity patterns in ``Collaborative Writing``. And this discussion must be reflected more systematically and concretely on the 8th National Curriculum of korean language arts in the future. Together, we have to develope more effective textbooks for contents pertinency and learning capability in consideratio.
