본 논문은 대학 글쓰기 교재 개발 과정에 대한 사례 연구 보고서이다. 유용한 대학 글쓰기 교재 개발을 위해서는 먼저 글쓰기 교재만의 특성화 된 기능과 원리에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 그리고 그로부터 실제 교재 개발 과정에 응용할 수 있는 전략들을 도출해야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 효과적인 교수도구의 원리로 카메에누이(Edward J. Kame``enui)와 카나인(Douglas W. Carnine) 등이 제안한 6가지 요소를 글쓰기 교재 개발에 적용하여 해석했다. 그리고 이러한 원리 위에서 개발된 교재의 실제 사례를 분석했다. 그럼으로써 향후 대학 글쓰기 교재 개발에서 주목해야 할 다음과 같은 참조점들을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 과정 중심 글쓰기 교재의 한계를 어떻게 극복할 것인가의 문제이다. 이와 관련하여 글쓰기의 다양한 명시적 전략들을 바탕으로 이들간에 활발한 소통과 결합을 꾀하는 전략적 통합의 관점에서 글쓰기 교수·학습 모형에 관한 충분한 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 대학 글쓰기 교육의 성과가 제대로 인정받기 위해서는 객관적인 평가 모형과 기준이 마련되어야 하고, 이를 교재에 실질적으로 반영할 수 있어야 한다. 셋째, 범교과적 혹은 전공영역별 글쓰기 교재의 유효성이 전반적으로 검토될 시점에 이르렀다. 이외에 ‘교재 평가 및 교재 개발에 관한 메타적 연구’, ‘자료의 축적과 활용을 위한 데이터베이스 구축’, ‘한국어 글쓰기 교육의 특성을 고려한 교수법 연구’ 등이 선행과제들이다.
This paper is a case study report on the development of college writing textbook. Above all we must understand the writing text`s distinctive functions and principles to develop a usable college writing textbook. From it, we should derive strategies which can be appled to practical development of textbook. In this context this paper interpreted six essential parts which Edward J. Kame`enui and Douglas W. Carnine suggest as a effective principles for teaching material development. This paper analyzed the textbook developed on the basis of those principles. Therefore following reference points were verified. First, We have to consider how to overcome the limitation of a textbook focusing writing as a process. In relation to this problem it is necessary to study a teaching-learning model from the viewpoint of the synthesis to attempt vigorous communication among explicit strategies. Second, For college writing education to be authorized it is needed to make objective assessment model and standards, and such that result should be reflected in a textbook substantially. Third, it becomes a stage to reexamine the validity of writing across the curriculum and disciplines textbooks. Except them there are matters calling for prior settlement such as ‘meta-study on the textbook development and assessment``, ``construction of database about informations and materials`, ``a study on the method of teaching considering Korea writing`s specific characters``.
