본 논문은 <인민일보>의 남북한 관련 보도를 통해서, 중국의 남북한 문제에 대한 인식과 태도가 어떤지를 분석하고, 특히 <인민일보>의 천안함 사건과 연평도 포격사건에 대한 보도태도를 통해 한국은 어떤 중국 전략과 통일·안보전략을 가져야 하는지를 분석하는 것을 연구목적으로 하였다. 한미동맹, 미중관계, 중국의 위상, 남북한 관계의 증진 등을 고려할 때, 한국의 대중국 전략 및 통일·안보전략은 다음과 같이 전개되는 것이 바람직하다고 본다. 첫째, 한미동맹을 공고히 해야 한다. 한미동맹을 공고히 한다는 것은 전통적 한반도 평화 및 위기관리의 가장 중요한 해법으로 볼 수 있다. 특히 중국을 설득할 수 있는 하나의 중요한 힘으로 작용할 수 있기 때문이다. 둘째, 한국과 중국의 관계를 발전적으로 개선해야 한다. 즉 기존의 경제적, 사회적, 문화적, 인적 교류를 넘어 군사적, 외교적, 정치적으로도 관계를 더욱 발전시킬 필요가 있다. 즉 전략적 동반자관계에서 전면 전략적 동반자관계로 한-중 관계를 발전시켜야 할 것으로 본다. 중국의 위상을 인정해야 한다는 것이다. 셋째, 남북한의 평화협상체제 마련이 시급하다. 결국에는 한반도 문제는 남북문제로 귀결된다고 본다면, 종국에는 한반도에서 미국과 중국의 영향력을 축소시키고 남북한의 힘을 강화하고 협력을 키우고 평화적인 통일을 진작시키기 위해서는 “남북한 평화협상체제”를 남북이 함께 모색하고, 합의하고, 전개하고 발전시키도록 해야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the Peoples` Daily has reported North and SouthKorea.Inparticularthepressattitudetothe sinking of Navy battleship Cheon-an and Yeonpyeong-do incident was analyzed to study what kind of strategies for China, reunification and security South Korea should have. Considering Korea-U.S. alliance, U.S.-China relationship, China`s status, North and South Korea relationship, three strategic views for China,reunification and security we resuggested. The first is to consolidate the Korea-U.S. alliance, which is the most important solution for the Korean peninsula`s peace and crisis management. Particularly, the alliance can work as one of the important factors to persuade China. These condis to improve South Korea-China relations hipon military, diplomacy, politics as well as economy, society and culture. It means that South Korea should acknowledge China`s status, and develop bilateralties with China to astrategic cooperation partnership. The third is to set up a peace negotiation system between North and South Korea. Eventually, the issue on the Korean peninsular results in the Northand South Korea problem. Hence, in order to diminish the influence of U.S. and China on the Korean peninsular and to lead to peaceful reunification, Northand South Korea should set up and develop apeace negotiation system. When the three strategic view sare reflected on diplomatic move of South Korea, desirable strategy of reunification and security for South Korea can be stablished.
