The purpose of this paper is to review the current status of education of social dialects by analyzing the Korean language textbook for high school, and provide the direction of social dialects education in the future· Specifically, in Chapter 2, we describe the concept and status of social dialect· In Chapter 3, we present the realities and problems of social dialects education· Through this process, we can observe the problems of description of social dialects found in the current high school textbooks of Korean language· In Chapter 4, we offer a couple of solutions for the social dialects education going forward· First, we have to establish clearly what the purpose of social dialects education is, and then teach intensively social dialects in order to achieve the purpose· Second, it should be included as one of social dialects that the linguistic variation appears in accordance with the physical or social condition of listeners· Third, language education has to go further to the cultivation of correct philosophy and universal political consciousness for students· Fourth, we should have an open and positive attitude about language variation and language change, and conduct Korean language education to improve the linguistic creativity and the linguistic ability of expression· They need active communications among the linguists, litterateurs, and educationalists of Korean in maintaining a complementary relationship for the future·
