본 연구의 목적은 전문상담교사의 전문성 증진을 위한 교육요구분석으로, 전문상담교사들이 현재 하고 있는 업무를 파악하고, 그 업무를 기준으로 하여 어떠한 부분에서 교육이 필요한 것인지를 파 악하고자 하였다. 먼저 요구분석의 내용이 되는 전문상담교사의 업무 목록 구성을 위하여 전국 16 개 시도에서 현재 근무 중인 전문상담교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 요구도는 보리치의 요구도 공식과 허쉬코비츠의 임계 함수를 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과, 7개 영역의 24개 현행 전문상담교사의 업무들 중에서 집단상담과 집단교육의 교육요구순위가 상대적으로 높았다. 또한 교육청과 학교 소속 전문상담교사 모두 학부모와 교직원의 집단교육 및 연수에 대한 요구도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 상담내용에 있어서는 진로와 학업 영역의 요구도가 높은 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구는 전문상담교사를 대상으로 하는 교육요구분석이 미비한 실정에서 실제로 활동을 하고 있는 전문상담교사들을 대상으로 하여 연구를 함으로써 그들의 전문성 증진을 위해서 필요한 교육요구 업무가 무엇인지를 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

As there is a doubt about expertise of Korean professional school counselors, it requires them to improve their professional ability of counseling. Even though Korean school counselors need to be reeducated, few studies are there on systematic analysis to identify educational needs for professional development of school counselors. Thus, the aim of this study is to analyze the duty of educational needs. First, to establish the list of duties, current professional school counselors were asked to answer what are their current works. In addition, the special panel of school counseling reviewed the result of the questionnaire. The result was that professional school counselors` duties were made up of 24 duties. Second, by using Borich`s formula and Herschkowits` critical functional formula, the areas of educational needs were identified. As a result, school counselors desired to be reeducated for small group counseling, large group guidance, and education of parents and teachers. Especially, career and academic areas were needed to improve school counselors` expertise. The results of the present study could be utilized to promote the professional school counselors` expertise in South Korea.
