본 연구는 다문화 청소년의 상담 및 지도를 하고 있는 현장 전문가를 대상으로 그들이 지각한 다문화 청소년의 양상과 다문화 청소년 상담의 어려움을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 다문화 청소년을 지원하고 있는 현장 전문가 9명을 눈덩이 표집방식(snowball sampling)으로 모집하였으며 그들에 대한 심층 면접이 이루어졌다. 면접 자료는 질적 연구 방법 중 하나인 CQR(Consensual Qualitative Research)을 사용하여 분석되었으며, 영역 부 호화 결과 13영역이 도출되었다. 영역은 이후 요약과 교차분석 과정을 거치면서 조정이 되었고 최종적으로 7개 영역의 21개 범주가 결정되었다. ‘현장에서 다문화 청소년의 양상은 어떠한가?’라는 질문에 대해서는 ‘다문화 청 소년의 이주배경에 따른 특성’, ‘연령에 따른 특성’, ‘상담기관에 의뢰되는 경로’, ‘다문화 청소년의 문제 유형’, ‘다문화 청소년의 특성’ 5개 영역이 도출되었다. ‘다문화 청소년 상담의 어려움은 무엇인가?’라는 질문에 대해서 는 ‘다문화 가정 측면에서의 상담의 어려움’과 ‘상담자의 준비 부족’ 2개 영역이 도출되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 다문화 청소년 상담의 어려움을 해결하기 위한 방안과 다문화 청소년 상담에 효과적인 상담방법을 위 한 논의가 제시되었다. 본 연구는 다문화 청소년 상담에 대한 연구가 거의 이루어지지 않고 있는 현 상황에서 다 문화 청소년을 대상으로 하고 있는 현장 전문가들의 경험을 바탕으로 실제로 다문화 청소년들이 겪고 있는 어려 움과 상담자들의 어려움을 깊이 있게 확인해보고 나아갈 방향을 제시하였다는데 그 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to explore experiences of helping professionals who have worked with the culturally diverse adolescents in order to acquire the understanding of characteristics of the culturally diverse adolescents` experiences after immigration. Additionally, it was also to explore difficulties the professionals perceive when providing helping and counseling services for the adolescents. For this, in-depth interviews were conducted targeting for 9 field professionals, who are in ages of thirties and forties(three males and six females) and have field experiences in community support centers for multicultural family for one through 10 years long. The analyses were made by applying a qualitative research method of Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) methods. The analyses resulted in 7 domains and 21 categories. As for the study question of what are the characteristics of the culturally diverse adolescents, 5 domains were identified: 1) the ones by the immigrant backgrounds. 2) the ones by the age of adolescents, 3) the channel referring to the community support centers for multicultural family, 4) the types of problems with which the culturally diverse adolescents are experiencing, and 5) the ones of the culturally diverse adolescents. As for another question of what are the difficulties they perceive when providing helping and counseling services for the adolescents, 2 domains were identified: 1) the reasons why multicultural families are experiencing difficulties in requesting for the services, 2) the lacks of readiness and competencies of multicultural helping professionals. Based on the results, findings and implications were discussed. The findings will provide some useful information about supporting for the culturally diverse adolescents and effectively providing multicultural programs.
