본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 학교폭력 경험 유형(학교폭력 비경험 집단, 가해경험 집단, 피해경험집단, 가해·피해 중복경험 집단)에 따른 집단별 의사소통의 특징을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울시내 중학생 541명(남 249명, 여 292명)을 표집하였으며, 학교폭력실태 및 의사소통방식, 의사소통기술 척도를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 통계분석에 따른 주요결과는 다음과같다. 첫째, 예비분석 결과 연구대상 541명의 학생 중 학교폭력 순수 가해 경험자는 21.6%, 순수 피해 경험자는 5.5% 그리고 가해·피해 중복경험자는 49.2%로 나타났다. 둘째, 학교폭력 피해경험 학생들은 의사소통방식에서 대체로 회유형 및 어느 정도의 산만형 방식을 채택하고 있었으며, 가해·피해 중복경험 학생들의 경우 비난형·산만형 의사소통방식이 두드러졌다. 셋째, 의사소통기술에서는 가해경험 학생들은 감정처리기술이 낮았으며, 가해·피해 중복경험 학생들은 경청기술 및 자기노출기술에서 높은 점수를 보였다. 후자의 경우 일반적인 기대와는 상반되는 결과로 볼 수 있었는데, 이는 두 가지(과잉, 왜곡된 자기지각)로 추론적 해석을 할 수 있었다. 논의를 통하여 연구결과가갖는 의의 및 상담 프로그램 개발에의 시사점을 차례로 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze characteristics of communication that middle school students use according to school violence experience types (non-experience group, perpetrator group, victim group, perpetrator and victim group). 541 middle school students (male, 249; female, 292) from seoul participated in this study and completed school violence survey, communication style inventory and communication skill inventory. Major findings of this study were as follows. First, the results of preliminary analysis showed that 21.6% of participants experienced school violence as only perpetrators, 5.5% experienced school violence as only victims and 49.2%experienced school violence as both perpetrators and victims. Second, while students who experienced school violence as victims mostly adopted placating type and somewhat adopted inattention type, students who experienced school violence as both victims perpetrators mostly adopted blaming type and inattention type. Third, while students who experienced school violence as perpetrators showed lower level of emotion management skills, and students who school violence as both victims perpetrators higher level of listening and self-disclosure skills in terms of communication skills. The latter results were contrary to general expectations and two possible explanations for the results were provided. Finally, the theoretical significance of this results were discussed and implications for counseling program development were presented.
