This study investigated the relationships between epilepsy and stress through family therapy case for an adult child with epilepsy. The therapist used MRI model and Murray Bowen``s family systems theory to treat an adult child with epilepsy. This study used constant comparative analysis with open coding and matrix, graph, and network display developed by Miles and Huberman to show the results of the study. The findings of the study were as follows. First, the problems of the adult child with epilepsy included diseases and stress, living of economically dependent state, lack of interlocutors among family members, social stigmatization and alienation, extreme conflict between mother and daughter, and lack of affection. Second, the factors influencing the problems of the adult child with epilepsy were dysfunctional parental rearing method, undifferentiation among family members, dysfunctional communication pattern among family members, and family members`` symptoms, coping skills and attitudes of others about epilepsy. Third, the epilepsy symptoms experienced by the adult child showed a positive correlations with stress. Specifically, the study showed that the progress of epilepsy and bipolar disorder were deeply related with the dysfunctional communication methods among family members and the undifferentiation of self from the origin of family. Finally, the result of the study showed a change in individual and family members`` relationships. Therefore, the findings of the study revealed that the family systematic intervention and communication method were very important to treat an adult child with epilepsy
