본 연구에서는 구조방정식모형을 활용하여 성격(외향성 및 신경증), 사회적 기술, 부정적 자동적 사 고, 수줍음, 사회불안간의 관계를 살펴보았다· 연구 참여자는 대학생 542명으로 성격검사(NEO-PI), 사회기술척도, 부정적 자동적 사고 검사, 수줍음척도, 사회불안척도를 실시하였다· 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다· 첫째, 성격특성인 외향성과 사회불안간의 관계에서 수줍음의 매개효과 가 나타났다· 둘째, 성격특성인 신경증과 사회불안간의 관계에서 수줍음의 매개효과가 나타났다· 셋 째, 사회적 기술과 사회불안간의 관계에서 수줍음의 매개효과가 나타났다· 넷째, 부정적 자동적 사 고와 사회불안간의 관계에서 수줍음의 매개효과가 나타났다· 다섯째 외향성, 신경증, 사회적 기술, 부정적 자동적 사고간에 유의미한 상관이 나타났다· 따라서 본 연구를 바탕으로 사회불안을 감소시키기 위해 외향성 및 신경증적 성격특성, 사회적 기술, 부정적 자동적 사고, 수줍음을 고려할 필요 가 있음을 알 수 있다· 연구의 제한점 및 추후 연구를 위한 제안을 논의하였다.

In the present study, the relationship among personality, shyness, social skill, negative automatic thoughts, and social anxiety by using structural equation model was examined· 542 college students were participated· To examine the effect, all subjects completed NEO-Personality Inventory Revised, Shyness Scale, Social Skill Rating System-Students Form, Negative Automatic Thought Questionnaire, and Social Avoidance and Anxiety Inventory· The results of this study were as follows: First, Shyness exerted as mediation variable between extroversion and social anxiety· Second, Shyness exerted as mediation variable between neuroticism and social anxiety· Third, Shyness exerted as mediation variable between social skill and social anxiety· Fourth, Shyness exerted as mediation variable between negative automatic thoughts and social anxiety· Fifth, significant relationships examined among extroversion, neuroticism, social skills and negative automatic thoughts· Therefore, in order to help college students with social anxiety, personality, social skills, negative automatic thoughts, and shyness were considered· Implication for further research are discussed.
