본 연구는 대학의 학부 과정에 개설된 상담학과의 현황을 분석하고 교육과정을 중심으로 발전방안을 탐색하였다. 현재 학부의 상담학과는 36개의 학과가 개설, 운영되고 있는데 4년제는 28개, 2·3 년제는 8개이며, 이 중 온라인으로 운영하는 사이버대학은 10개이다. 상담학만을 교육하는 학과는 5 개에 불과하며 심리학, 청소년학, 신학, 복지학, 가정학 등 다양한 관련 학문분야를 함께 교육하는 학과가 더 많다. 각 학과의 교육과정은 학과별로 차이가 많이 나지만 교육과정의 구성은 저학년에 는 기초과목이 배치되고 고학년에 응용과 실습과목을 배치되는 일정한 양상을 보여주었다. 학부 상 담학과 교육과정의 체계화를 위하여 상담교육의 철학, 목표, 모델, 내용, 방법 등을 고려할 것과, 표 준교육과정 구성, 학부 상담자 교육 모델 구축, 기존 교육과정과의 연계 협조, 교육과정 인증제실 시등을 발전과제로 제시하였다.

This paper investigates present state and development plan of counseling department in undergraduate. There are 36 counseling departments in undergraduate, just 6 concern only counseling while others concern counseling with related learning such as psychology, adolescent, theology, social welfare, and home economics. The author analysed curriculum of counseling department as understanding of human, counseling theory and technique, test? assessment?reasearch, counseling practice, and others. As a result, common patterns of corriculum according to grade were found, while subjects were somewhat different among departments. Several consideration for development of counseling department such as philosophy, objects, education model, contents, methords of counseling education are discussed, and tasks for development of counseling department such as standardization of curriculum, construction of counseling education model for undergraduate, connection of diverse counseling education courses, and certification system of counseling education program are proposed.
