본 연구는 정서공감을 측정하는 균형정서공감척도(BEES)의 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 320명의 고등학생을 대상으로 번안된 균형정서공감척도를 실시하였다. 요인분석 결과, 균형정서공감척도의 구성요인으로 정서적 냉정성, 정서감염, 낯선 타인의 감정이해, 상상적 공감, 공감적 관심의 5개 하위요인이 추출되었는데, 총 30문항 중 3개 문항은 설명력이 낮거나 남녀간 요인차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 최종 작성된 총 27문항의 균형정서공감척도에서 남녀간 차이는 여학생이 남학생보다 공감 수준이 더 높은 것은 것으로 나타났고, 내적 합치도와 3주 간격의 검사-재검사 신뢰도가 비교적 양호하였다. 또한 균형정서공감척도는 공격성척도와 통계적으로 유의미한 부적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의와 시사점, 제한점 등을 논하였다.

The purpose of this study was to provide initial information about reliability and validity of Balanced Emotional Empathy Scale. A total of 320 students in high school completed the Korean translation of BEES. Exploratory factor analysis(EFA) of the Korean translation of BEES yielded five factors which are listed as follows; emotional coolness, emotional contagion, appreciation of the feelings of unfamiliar others, imaginary empathy, and empathic concern. The final version of the K-BEES consisted of 27 items which were selected from the original pool of 30 items in the BEES, leaving out 3 items with low factor loadings. Women reported higher level of emotional empathy than men. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability of the K-BEES over 3 weeks were acceptable and significant. It is also seen that the K-BEES significantly and negatively related to the Aggression Questionnaire. Finally, the implications and limitations were discussed.
