본 연구는 원가족 부모의 부정적 양육태도가 성인초기 자녀의 친밀감 두려움에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 그 과정에서 수치심의 매개효과를 밝히고자 하였다. 총 178명의 대학생을 대상으로 부모 양육태도, 친밀감 두려움, 내재화된 수치심 척도로 구성된 설문을 실시하였다. 부모 양육태도의 8가지 하위요인 중 방임과 과잉간섭이 성인초기 자녀의 친밀감 두려움을 유의하게 예측하였다. 또한 수치심에 유의미한 예언력을 가지는 부모 양육태도 하위요인은 과잉간섭과 애정인 것으로 나타났다. 그로부터 친밀감 두려움과 수치심을 공통적으로 예측하는 양육태도 변인으로 과잉간섭이 확인되었다. 이에 과잉간섭적 양육태도를 예측변인으로 하고 수치심을 매개변인으로 하여 친밀감 두려움을 설명하기 위한 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 부모의 과잉간섭이 성인초기 자녀의 친밀감 두려움에 영향을 미치는 과정을 수치심이 완전매개 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉 과잉간섭적인 양육을 받은 것이 수치심을 유발했을 때에 친밀감 두려움이 형성된다고 볼 수 있다. 끝으로 본 연구가 지니는 의의와 한계점을 논의하였고, 향후 연구를 위한 제안사항들을 제시하였다.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the association between negative parenting attitude in the family of origin on child`s fear of intimacy in early adulthood, as well as the mediating role of shame. A total of 178 university students completed measures of parenting attitude, fear of intimacy, and internalized shame. Among the 8 sub-components of parenting attitude, neglect and over-interference were significantly related to fear of intimacy. And over-interference and affection were significant predictors of shame. Over-interference, the mutual predictor of fear of intimacy and shame was entered in hierarchical multiple regression to examine the mediating role of shame. The analysis indicated that shame fully mediated between parenting attitude and fear of intimacy. The implications and limitations of the study were discussed and suggestions for future researches were presented.
