사회인지 진로이론에 근거하여 정서지능이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 그 과정에서 진로탐색 자기효능감의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 대학생과 대학원생 총 322명의 자료를 분석하여 다음의 연구결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 정서지능이 높을수록 진로탐색 자기효능감과 진로준비행동이 높아졌다. 이 때 특히 정서지능의 하위요인 가운데 자기정서평가가 진로탐색 자기효능감과 진로준비행동을 가장 많이 설명하였다(β =.31). 둘째, 진로탐색 자기효능감이 높을수록 진로준비행동이 높아졌다. 셋째, 정서지능이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 진로탐색 자기효능감이 완전매개 하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 진로준비행동을 향상시키는데 있어서 정서지능의 하위요인 가운데 자기정서평가 요인의 중요성과 정서지능이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 진로탐색 자기효능감이 매개한다는 점을 밝힘으로써 진로상담에 구체적 도움을 주는 점에 의의가 있다. 마지막으로 이 연구의 의의와 한계 및 앞으로 연구 과제를 논의하였다.

To investigate the effects of emotional intelligence on career exploration behavior and to verify the mediating effects of career search self-efficacy, we analysed the data of 322 university students and graduate students. Here are the results of this study. First, the higher emotional intelligence they have, the higher career search self-efficacy and career exploration behavior they improve. Among the elements of emotional intelligence, especially the self-emotional evaluation is related a lot with career search self-efficacy and career exploration behavior. Second, the higher career search self-efficacy they have, the higher career exploration behavior they improve. Third, career search self-efficacy completely meditate the effects of emotional intelligence on career exploration behavior. These results of this study have significant meaning for helping career counselling concretely as they confirmed the importance of the self-emotional evaluation among the elements of emotional intelligence to improve career exploration behavior and found out the fact that career search self-efficacy meditate the effects of emotional intelligence on career exploration behavior. Last, we have discussed the meaning and limit and future research.
