본 연구는 알코올 의존환자의 정신과적 증상이 변화동기단계에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한 것이다. 병원에 입원중인 남자 알코올 의존환자 137명을 대상으로 SCL-90-R(Symptom Checklist-90-Revision), 한국판 변화동기 척도(Korean version of the Stage of Change Readiness and Treatment Eagerness; SOCRATES-K) 등을 사용하여 회귀분석을 실행하였다. 회귀분석결과, 대인예민성, 우울 등의 정신과적 증상은 변화단계의 인식요인에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 반면에 신체화, 편집증 등의 증상은 인식요인에 유의한 부적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 변화단계의 양가성은 강박증상에 의하여 유의한 부적 영향을 받고 있었다. 변화단계의 실천요인은 신체화 증상에 의하여 유의한 부적 영향을 받고 있었다. 결론적으로 알코올 의존환자의 정신과적 증상은 변화동기단계에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구결과는 알코올 의존환자가 가진 정신과적 증상은 변화동기에 정적 혹은 부적 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인한 것에 의의가 있다.

This study examined the psychiatric symptom factors associated with motivational change in hospitalized alcohol dependence cases. The study involved 137 hospitalized alcohol dependence cases who completed the SCL-90-R (Symptom Checklist-90-Revision), the SOCRATES-K (Korean Version of the Stage of Change Readiness and Treatment Eagerness). The SOCRATES-K construct involved three factors: Recognition Steps, Ambivalence Steps, and Taking Steps. Regression revealed that interpersonal sensitivity and depression significantly positively predict the recognition steps factor. But somatization and paranoid ideation significantly negatively predict the recognition steps factor in hospitalized alcohol dependence cases. Regression revealed that obsessive-compulsive significantly negatively predict the ambivalence steps factor. Somatization negatively predicts the taking steps factor in hospitalized alcohol dependence cases. Conclusion: The finding of this study shows the effects of psychiatric symptoms on motivational change in alcohol dependence cases. This study``s result makes suggestions for the psychiatric symptoms which significantly, positively or negatively, predicted motivational change in hospitalized alcohol dependence cases.
