본 연구는 준전문상담자 양성이라는 측면에서 예비교사들에게 상담교육을 반드시 실시해야 하지만, 현재 그 내용, 방법, 교육과정 측면에서 문제가 있음을 규명하려는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 예비교사 교육을 담당하고 있는 사범대, 교육대, 일반대학 교직과정 및 교육대학원 수업 중 상담관련 교육의 비중을 확인하였다. 이후 현직 상담교수들을 대상으로 상담자 교육의 관점에서 현재의 예비교사 교육이 안고 있는 문제점을 도출한 결과 상담 교과목 개설 및 수업 시수, 교육내용 및 수업 방식, 교사 선발 방식, 상담 교육 전문가의 자질 등 다양한 문제가 제기되었다. 이에 더하여 준전문상담자 양성교육을 위한 필수항목을 살펴본 결과 전문상담자 양성교육에서 제안된 내용과 동일한 내용-상담 이론, 상담 기법, 심리 검사, 집단상담이론, 상담 윤리-도 있었지만 학부수준에서 그리고 학교 현장에서 학습되어야 할 다양한 교육내용-학업 및 진로상담, 청소년 이해 및 문제행동, 위기문제, 다문화교육, 진단 및 평가, 다문화 교육, 자문 등-도 제안되고 있음을 확인하였다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 후속 연구, 교육정책, 상담 교육 실제에 대한 시사점을 살펴보았다.

This study aimed to investigate the appropriateness of current preliminary teacher education from the point of counselor education. In school setting, all the teachers should teach and counsel students, so basic counselor education curriculum should be offered to all the preliminary teachers. Because all the teachers are a kind of quasi-professional counselors in school. But current teacher education programs didn`t contain the practical contents and training process for preparing quasi-professional counselors. A few important results were identified. Small number of counseling related subjects were opened in college or university. Therefore, preliminary teachers couldn`t get high efficacy of counseling. So they feared about counseling and avoid of counseling tasks. The professors of counseling awared many problems of teacher education like number of counseling subjects, contents and methods of teachings, way of teacher selection, and quality of counseling professors. In addition, we got the items about necessary teaching contents in teacher education from the point of quasi professional counselor education. Suggestions and implications were provided for the future teacher education.
