본 연구는 상담과정에서 내담자가 경험한 상담자의 타당화(Validation) 개입이 작업동맹과 회기평가에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 확인하고 내담자의 타당화 경험이 회기평가에 미치는 영향에서 작업동맹의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 현재 상담을 받고 있는 만 18세 이상 성인 내담자 114명의 자료를 분석하였으며 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내담자가 경험한 상담자의 타당화 개입은 상담자와 내담자간 작업동맹에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 그 하위요인인 정서적 유대와 목표 및 과제 합의 모두와 높은 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 내담자가 경험한 상담자의 타당화 개입은 내담자가 상담을 깊이 있고 순조롭게 느끼는 것에 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 셋째, 작업동맹이 회기평가에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 넷째, 내담자가 경험한 상담자의 타당화 개입이 회기평가에 미치는 영향에서 작업동맹이 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 중심으로 향후 연구와 상담 실제를 위한 제언과 연구의 한계를 논의하였다.

This study examined how counselor`s validation skills affect the process and outcome of counseling session. The concept of validation was suggested by Linehan(1997). Total 114 clients over 18 years old were recruited for this study. The results of our study as follow. First, the perceived counselor`s validation intervention significantly affects the working alliance and is correlated with emotional bond, purpose and task agreement. Second, the counselor`s validation significantly affects the deep and smooth session evaluation. Third, the result showed the working alliance is therapeutic fact for session evaluation. Forth, the working alliance affects completely mediated the process between perceived validation and session evaluation. We empirically verified the usefulness of counselor`s validation skill in counseling process outcome. And results showed the importance of working alliance in process as a counselor`s validation skills into effective session evaluation. The implication for practice and future research are discussed.
