본 연구는 결혼을 목적으로 이주한 여성들을 대상으로 하여 모국과는 다른 문화경험을 통해서 발달해 가는 문화적정체감 발달과정을 모형화 하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구방법은 8명의 결혼이주여성을 심층 면담하여 Strauss 와 Corbin의 근거이론 방법을 이용하였다. 자료 분석결과, 104개의 개념과 28개의 하위범주, 그리고 12개의 범주가 도출되었다. 근거이론의 패러다임에 의한 문화적정체감 발달과정의 중심현상은 ‘내가 누구인지 혼란스러움’이며, 중심현상의 인과적 조건은 ‘문화가 다름’이며, 맥락적 조건은 ‘편견을 경험함’, ‘차별을 경험함’이며, 작용/상호작용 전략을 촉진시키거나 억제하는 중재적 조건은 ‘가족의 지지’, ‘내적인 의지’, ‘시간의 변화’이고, 작용/상호작용 전략은 ‘수동적으로 노력하기’, ‘적극적으로 노력하기’이며, 결과는 ‘삶의 관점과 태도의 변화’, ‘자신감과 자부심향상’, ‘개별화된 문화의 주체’로 나타났다. 이를 중심으로 결혼이주여성들의 문화적정체감이 발달하는 과정은 ‘미래에 대한 두려움과 불안의 단계’ ‘선택을 수용하는 단계’ ‘긍정적으로 노력하는 단계’ ‘아픔에서 성장하는 단계’ ‘통합된 정체성으로 사는 단계’의 다섯 단계로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to model the developmental process in cultural identity, which has been developed through experiencing other cultures different from the native country, targeting immigrant women who have immigrated with the purpose of marriage. A research method grounded on the Strauss and Corbin theory was used by having in-depth interviews with 8 married immigrant women. As a result of analyzing data, 104 concepts, 28 sub-categories, and 12 categories were elicited. They were indicated as follows. The central phenomenon of the developmental process in cultural identity by paradigm of the grounded theory is ``confusion about who I am.`` A causal condition of the central phenomenon is ``difference in culture.`` Contextual condition includes ``experience of prejudice`` and ``experience of discrimination.`` A moderating condition of facilitating or inhibiting a strategy for action/interaction includes ``a support of family,`` ``internal will,`` and ``a change in time.`` A strategy for action/interaction includes ``striving passively`` and ``striving positively.`` The results include ``a change in perspective and attitude toward life,`` ``improvement in self-confidence and pride,`` and ``main agent in the individualized culture.`` Based on these results, the developmental process of cultural identity in married immigrant women shows five main stages; ``the stage of anxiety and fear for the future,`` ``stage of accepting choice,`` ``stage of striving positively,`` ``stage of growing in pain,`` and ``the stage living with the integrated identity.``
