본 연구는 내현적 자기애성향과 내면화된 수치심 관계에서 인지적 정서조절 전략의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 참여자는 전북대학교에 재학 중이고 심리학 개론을 수강하는 대학생412명으로 구성되었고, 내현적 자기애 척도, 인지적 정서조절 전략 질문지, 내면화된 수치심 척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였으며, 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 사용하여 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상관분석 결과, 내현적 자기애와 내면화된 수치심은 유의한 정적 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 부적응적 정서조절 전략은 내현적 자기애와 내면화된 수치심의 관계를 부분 매개 하였다. 셋째, 적응적 정서조절 전략은 내현적 자기애와 내면화된 수치심의 관계를 매개하지 못하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 내현적 자기애 성향자들이 인지적 정서조절 전략을 통해 수치심을 극복하도록 조절할 수 있는 것으로 보인다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 그리고 후속연구를 위한 제언에 대하여 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of Cognitive Emotion Regulation in the relationship between Covert Narcissism and Internalized Shame. The subject were 412 Chonbuk national university student in grades 1 through 5 in Chonbuk province. They were assessed by The Covert Narcissism Scale(CNS), The Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(CERQ), and The Internalized Shame Scale(ISS). The results showed as follows: First, Covert narcissism and internalized shame showed a significant positive correlations. And covert narcissism had positive relationship with maladaptive emotion regulation strategies. However, covert narcissism and adaptive emotion regulation strategies showed insignificant correlation. Second, total score of maladaptive emotion regulation strategies mediated partly the relationships between covert narcissism and internalized shame. Third, because of covert narcissism and adaptive emotion regulation strategies showed insignificant correlations, adaptive emotion regulation strategies did not mediated the relationships between covert narcissism and internalized shame. Finally, the limits and implications of the current study were discussed.
