본 연구는 자녀 스트레스와 여성 한부모 적응의 관계에서 변인들 간의 영향력과 대처전략 및 가족 탄력성의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 여성 한부모 260명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하고 분석 하였다. 경로분석 결과, 자녀 스트레스와 여성 한부모의 적응에서 대처전략이 가족탄력성에 영향을 미치는 경로를 포함한 경쟁모형 1이 채택되었다. 채택된 경쟁모형 1의 적합도는 높았으나 대처전략 과 적응 간 경로가 유의하지 않아 이론에 근거하면서 보다 간명한 모델을 찾기 위해 Wald 검증에 따른 모형 다듬기(Model Trimming)를 통해 수정모형을 산출하고 경쟁모형 1과 비교하였다. 여러 적 합도 지수를 비교하고 이론에 근거하여 수정모형을 더 적합한 모델로 선정하였다. 결론적으로 자녀 스트레스와 여성 한부모의 적응에서 가족탄력성은 완전매개효과가 유의하며, 대처전략은 가족탄력 성에 직접적인 영향을 미치나 적응에는 간접적인 영향만을 미치므로 자녀 스트레스와 적응 간 매개 효과는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 여성 한부모가 잘 적응하도록 자녀 스트레스를 완화하기 위한 상담적 개입을 고려할 때에 매개요인인 가족탄력성을 증진시킬 필요가 있으며 아울러 가족탄력성에 영향을 미치는 대처전략의 심도 있는 연구 및 개발도 고려되어야 할 것이다.

This study investigated mediating effects of coping strategy and family resilience on the relationship between parenting stress and single mother`s adaptation and. A total of 179 single mothers completed a pack of questionnaires and the data were analysed using correlation analysis and path analysis. On the basis of the path analysis competing model 1 including the path that coping strategy influences family resilience was chosen. The competing model 1 showed a good fit but the path between coping strategy and adaptation was not statistically significant. Accordingly Wald statistic for Model Trimming was used in search of a model which is more parsimonious and theory-based. A modified model was generated and compared with the competing model 1. On the basis of the comparison of model fit indices and theoretical consideration the modified model was chosen. In conclusion, family resilience was shown to fully mediate the relationship between parenting stress and single mother`s adaptation, while coping strategy partially mediating the relationship between parenting stress and family resilience. On the other hand coping strategy did not mediate the relationship between parenting stress and single mother`s adaptation, but it had a direct effect on family resilience. Counseling intervention designed to alleviate parenting stress must consider ways to improve family resilience, and in-depth studies of coping strategy which has an effect on family resilience is needed.
