The purpose of this study was to develop a group counseling program based on Adlerian Individual psychology in order to help college students overcome their inferiority complex. Other purposes were to examine changes of their inferiority symptom and social interest and to examine the counseling session outcome. For this study the following hypotheses were established. First, does the group counseling program help to reduce the college student`s inferiority symptoms significantly? Second, does the program help to increase their social interests significantly? Third, are their counseling session outcomes apparent according to each session progression? The subjects were 32 college students in Y city. 15 subjects were assigned in the experimental group and 17 were in the control group randomly. The experimental group students received 8 sessions of group counseling in 8 weeks(each session lasted about 2 hours, tota116 hours). Inferiority symptom scale, Social interest scale and Session Evaluation Questionnaire were need for ; the study. The data was analysed by ANCOVA, and repeated measures ANOVA The results are as follows; First, the group counseling program helped to reduce the level of the college students` inferiority symptoms Significantly. Second, the program helped to increase the levels of their social interests. Third, the session evaluation proved that there was a Significant increase in counseling outcomes in each session, and the depth and smooth progress was apparent according to the session progression. Based on the results, Adlerian counseling program was suggested as a means to help college students overcome their inferiority complex.
