본 연구는 가출청소년과 부모를 대상으로 한 가족상담에 대상관계이론을 실제 적용해 봄으로써 대상관계 가족치료모델의 적용가능성을 검증해 보고자 하였다. 상담사례에서는 가족성원 중 아버지를 중심인물로 보고, 아버지의 대상관계와 대상표상, 자기표상, 투사, 분열과 통합 등을 주로 다루었고, 그에 따른 가족의 심리역동적 환경과 가족성원들의 개인내적 역동을 변화시키고자 하였다. 아버지의 대상관계는 유년시절부터 가족과 학교, 직장에서 거부당하는 대상의 역할을 하였고, 가족에게는 거부하는 대상으로서 기능하고 있는 면을 중점적으로 다루었다. 아버지의 자기표상은 소외당하고 하찮게 여겨지며 결국 버려진다는 열등감이 기저를 이루고 있다고 판단하여 자존감을 높이는 것에 비중을 두고 주로 지지적 기법을 사용하였다. 본 상담사례에서 볼 수 있듯이 대상관계이론에 근거한 가족치료모델은 가족성원의 개인내적 역동과 가족관계 측면을 동시에 초점을 두고 가족역동과 문제에 접근한다는 점에서 유용하다. 또한 내담자가 원가족과의 경험에서 갖게 된 부정적인 자기표상과 대상표상을 현재의 가족성원들에게 투사함으로써 나타날 수 있는 가족문제에 접근하는데 있어 적합하다고 본다.

This counseling study is the case study that Object Relations Family Counseling Model was applied to families of which adolescent casually run away from home. Family counseling was performed at 9 times. Assuming that father plays a core role in family member, this study mainly addressed his object relationship and representation, self-representation, projection and projective identification, disorganization and integration and so on. Furthermore, the study also intended to change corresponding psychological environment of families and their interpersonal dynamics. This study focused on addressing the fact that father`s object relationship played a role in a person who had been rejected or left out in the cold from family, school and workplace since childhood, while he functioned as a person who rejected his family. Assuming that his self-representation is based on a sense of inferiority that his existence is left out from family or neglected and even abandoned, this study mainly used supportive technique focusing on enhancing self-esteem. By evaluating whole counseling course, the following points can be considered effective: First, two counselors encouraged family to feel again the surrounding around Hun who run away from home through personal and family counseling. Secondly, they tried to change mainly father`s object relationship during family counseling. Thirdly, they prepared big mother to support father and commissioned some of their own counseling role to her. Finally, they had approach for Hun`s defiant behaviors such as leaving home or violences, motorbike riding even in the level of his desire for change or his own energy ready to change.
