본 연구는 집단상담의 치료적 요인에 관련한 연구의 검토를 통하여 연구경향과 미래의 과제 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 1970년부터 최근까지의 집단상담 치료적 연구를 검토하였고, 치료적 요인에 관련된 연구들을 크게 4가지로 분류하였다. 첫째 집단유형에 따른 치료적 요인으로 이를 세분화하면 ① 내담자유형을 강조한 경우 ② 특정집단 유형을 강조한 경우 ③ 집단간 치료적 요인 차이 등이며, 둘째, 집단발달단계에 따른 치료적 요인, 셋째, 집단원들의 특성에 따른 치료적 요인, 넷째, 최근의 새로운 경향으로 ① 치료자가 지각하는 치료적 요인 ② 집단상담활동의 치료적 요인 ③ 치료적요인 관련 척도 개발 등으로 분류하여 외국연구와 국내연구로 나누어 살펴보았다. 치료적 요인에 관련된 초기 연구들은 집단유형이 가지는 치료적 요인에 대한 탐색, 집단의 발달단계와 치료적 요인의 관계, 집단원들의 특성에 따른 치료적 요인에 대한 연구들이 활발하게 진행되어 왔다. 한편 최근의 연구들 특정한 이론적 배경이나 목적을 가진 집단간의 치료적 요인의 차이를 탐색하거나 집단상담자나 집단원이 아닌 집단상담 활동의 치료적 요인에 대한 평가, 상담자의 관점에서의 치료적 요인, 치료적 요인에 관련된 척도개발 연구들의 세분화되고 정교한 연구들이 등장하고 있다. 집단상담 치료적요인 연구에 있어서 미래의 과제는 첫째, 치료적 요인의 개념적 합의 및 치료적 요인의 하위개념에 대한 명확한 이해를 토대로 한 새로운 치료적 요인의 체제 구축, 둘째, 치료적 요인에 대한 심리측정학적 정보를 토대로 한 측정도구의 개발, 셋째, 치료적 요인에 대한 집단상담자, 평정자 등 다양한 관점의 통합적 평가, 넷째, 서열척도 이상의 자료를 활용하여 다양한 방식의 통계를 통한 치료적 요인의 확인 등이다.

The purpose of this research is to investigate research trends and future tasks in therapeutic factors in group counseling by examining related studies. Thus far, we have inspected studies on these therapeutic factors from 1970 to the present and have divided them into four categories. The first category differs according to the different types of counseling groups; this part can be classified into three subcategories: 1) the type that are found in groups emphasizing the type of clients involved, 2) the type that are found in groups emphasizing a particular group and 3) the type that show the difference in therapeutic factors among different groups. The second category involve the therapeutic factors that follow the group developmental stage. Third involves those factors that correspond to the distinctive quality among the clients in the group. Fourth illustrates new trends; this part divided into four subcategories: 1)the factors perceived by the counselor. 2) the therapeutic factors of group counseling activities, and 3) development of the therapeutic factor-related measurement scale. These four categories were then examined within domestic settings and then within foreign settings. Early studies focused on the types of therapeutic factors that are present according to each type of counseling group, on the relationship between the factors and the developmental stages of the counseling group, and on the factors that correspond to the types of clients that are present within the counseling group. On the other hand, current studies on 1) the differences in therapeutic factors among counseling groups with different theoretical background or with different goals, 2) the evaluation of therapeutic factors, not of the group counselor nor of the client, but of the group counseling activity itself, 3) those factors that are seen as effective by the counselor and 4) the development of therapeutic factor-related measurement scales, all of which are becoming more specific and researched in detail. Future tasks that lie in the area of group counseling therapeutic factors include: 1) facilitating a new structure for these factors by understanding their subcategories and by coming to a consensus on the meanings of the factors themselves, 2) the development of a measuring instrument that relies on psychometric information for therapeutic factors, 3) the evaluation of the factors in a variety of perspectives, including the group counselor, moderator and others and 4) the confirmation of the therapeutic factors through a variety of statistical analysis using ranking scales or more sophisticated instruments.
