This study was to examine the differences between the group participants who had participated in more than 7 sessions of self-growth group out of 10 sessions (the finished group) and the those who had participated in less than 7 sessions (the unfinished group) in their perceptions of group cohesiveness, leader evaluation, and session evaluation. A total of 107 undergraduate students participated in the study. Among them, fifty five participants were in the finished group, and 51 in the unfinished group. The results of the study showed that 56 participants successfully completed the group and 51 participants did not. And 44 participants out of 51 were classified as the drop-outs (41.1% of the total participants). It was also found that there was a significant difference in group cohesiveness throughout the initial, middle, and later group processes while no significant difference in leader evaluation was found. With respect to session evaluation there was no significant difference throughout the sessions except the first one. The results implied that the drop-out is mostly occurring during the early group processes, particularly during the first two sessions, which appear to be related with participants` session evaluation and perceptions of group cohesiveness. A discussion on the importance of the group leader`s intervention for increasing the group cohesiveness and session evaluation in the early stage was made.
