본 연구는 마약류 의존자의 심리적 특성을알아보기 위한 것이다. 연구결과 마약류 의존자들은 일반인에 비하여 우울증이 심하고 자존감이 낮고 자기개념이 빈약한 것으로 나타났다. 마약류 의존자의 우울한 기분은 낮은 자존감, 빈약한 자기개념과 상관을 가지고 있었다. MMPI에서 마약류 의존자들은 일반인에 비하여 F,Hs, D, Hy, Pd, Pa, Pt, Sc,Ma, Si 등의척도가유의하게상승되었다. 판별분석결과일반인과마약류의존자를 잘구별하는 척도는 Pa, Pd, Mf, Hs의 순서로 나타났으며이들변수 중에서 Pd 척도와Pa 척도가판별함수에 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있었다. 군집분석결과 4개의 집단으로 구분되었다. 제1집단은 타당도 척도인F 척도가 T점수로 70 이상이고 임상척도에서Hs, Pd, Pa, Pt, Sc 척도 등이 T점수로 70 이상, D, Hy 등은 T점수로 65이상 상승된 집단으로 정신과적증상을가지고있다. 제 2집단은정상프로파일을보이는집단이다. 제 3집단은 Pd 척도가 유일하게 T점수로 60 이상 상승되어 있는 반사회적 경향을 가진 집단이다. 제4집단은Hs, Hy, Pd, Pa, Sc 척도등이T 점수로60이상상승되어있는집단으로신경증적경향을가지고있다. 본 연구결과는 마약류 의존자에 대한 치료적 개입을 할 때 심리적 특성을 고려해야 함을 시사하고 있다.

This study was conducted to identify the problems of depression, self-esteem, and the personality traits of drug dependents. These results may suggest that drug dependent exhibit higher instances of depression, low self-esteem, low self concept and personality problem than healthy subjects. Low self-esteem was correlated with depression among drug dependents. Based on these findings, psychological intervention and therapy are necessary for the treatment of drug dependents. Drug dependents exhibited higher scores in F, Hs(1), D(2), Hy(3), Pd(4), Mf(5), Pa(6), Pt(7), Sc(8), Ma(9), Si(0) of MMPI than the normal control group, but lower scores on the K subscale. Hs(1), Pd(4), Mf(5), Pa(6) were discriminated in these two groups, specifically Pd(4), Pa(6). The mean T score of MMPI profiles of drug dependent were analyzed to identify the differences and characteristics among the four groups with similar MMPI.
