본 연구는 사회적 문제해결능력 증진을 위한 가치명료화 훈련 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하여 그 효과를 구명하고자 실시되었다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 K중학교 3학년 남, 여학생 20명을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 균등 할당하는 짝진 집단 설계 방법을 사용하였다. 본 실험에 앞서 두 집단에 대해 동질성을 검증하였으며, 실험집단에는 2차례에 걸친 타당화 작업 끝에 본 연구자가 개발한 가치명료화 훈련 프로그램을 적용하고 통제집단에는 아무런 처치를 가하지 않았다. 본 연구에 사용된 검사도구로는 사회적 문제해결능력 검사였으며, 검사도구의 적절성을 따져보기 위해서 예비검사를 실시하고 신뢰도 검증 과정을 거쳤다. 이상과 같은 과정을 거쳐 얻어진 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 가치명료화 훈련 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단은 통제집단과 비교하여 해결책 실행과 확인을 제외한 사회적 문제해결능력 하위영역전체에서 유의미한 결과를 나타냄으로써 사회적 문제해결능력을 증진하는 효과를 가져왔다. 그러므로 본 훈련 프로그램의 개발과 적용은 중학생의 사회적 문제해결능력을 높이는 실증적 연구가 되었다.

The purposes of this study were to develop the Values Clarification Training Program(VCTP) and to investigate effects of the Program on Social Problem Solving Abilities. For this research, one experimental group and one control group, composed of 20 male and female middle school students respectively, were organized and then divided into groups of 10 by Matched-Group Design. After both groups turned out to be all homogeneous by a planned comparison analysis, VCTP was applied to the experimental group while no treatment was applied to the control group. It has developed through 2 validity assessments by the researcher of this study. The study results obtained through this process were summarized as follows :From quantitative analysis of the effects of VCTP on social problem solving, the statistics show significant differences in all sub factors of social problem solving abilities except for solution implementation & verification abilities of the students. Therefore, it could be proved that VCTP of this study had significant effects on social problem solving abilities.
