본 연구에서는 여성의 성적 자기주장성 척도를 개발하고 타당화하였다. 먼저, 문헌연구를 통해Morokoff, Quina, Harlowm Whitmire, Grimley, Gibson, and Burkholder(1997)의 SAS(Sexual Assertiveness Scale)등 국내외의 성적 주장성 관련 척도를 참고하여 성행동의 시도, 원하지 않는 성행동에 대한 거부, 임신 및 성으로 감염되는 질병에 대한 예방, 의사소통 기술의 4가지 하위 요인에 해당하는 문항을 제작했다. 서울 소재 사립대학의 여대생 255명을 대상으로 한 예비연구를 통해 21문항의 성적 자기 주 장성 척도를 구성했고, 230명의 여대생에게 본 검사를 실시했다. 본 연구 자료를 토대로 성적 자기 주장성 척도에 대한 양호도 분석을 실시하고, 구인타당도 검증을 위해 확인적 요인분석을 실시했다. 그 결과 우리나라 여대생을 위한 성적 자기주장성 척도의 요인 수는 4개가 적합한 것으로 확인되었다. 각 요인에 해당되는 문항의 요인계수도 적절한 수준을 보였으며, 하위요인별 내적 합치도도 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 분석결과에 대해 선행연구와 한국의 사회문화적 환경과 관련하여 논의하고, 연구의 의의와 한계 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시했다.

The purpose of the present study is to develope a Sexual Self-Assertiveness Scale for female.Based on framework of SAS(Sexual Assertiveness Scale) developed by Morokoff, Quina, Harlowm Whitmire, Grimley, Gibson, and Burkholder(1997) and the previously developed empirical evidence, 36 preliminary items of four-factor structure were constructed. Preliminary item and scale analyses were based on the data collected from 255 female college students. Examination of the item descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis resulted in the 36-item final scale consists of four-factor of sexual self-assertiveness subscales(6 items of initiation, 5 items of refusal, 5 items of pregnancy-SDT prevention, 5 items of communication skill). Data from 230l female college students for the final scale were analysed to confirm the factorial validity of the four-factor model. A confirmatory factor analysis result revealed that the four-factor structure of career barriers scale was appropriate to represent the sexual self-assertiveness structure of Korean female college students. The result also showed that four-factor model fits the data better than the another three-factor model. The internal consistency of each factor was reasonably high ranging from .63 to .74.. Implications for counseling practice and future research were suggested
