In this study we performed phenomenological analysis of the seven inmates` psychodrama experience who participated in the psychodrama program for inmates in a correctional institute. We derived significant meaning, formulated meaning, theme, theme clusters, and clusters from the interview data. On the basis of the categories above, we thoroughly described them according to the subject and presented an intrinsic structure. As a result, before the psychodrama program, participants generally showed unsatisfaction with their lives in the institution, instability, powerlessness, and nervousness about trivial matters. During the psychodrama program, most of them were satisfied with the program while some felt it hard to be absorbed in it. In other words, with their broadened thought during the program, they began to positively think about themselves and others, experiencing pleasant emotions such as recovery from stress and comfort in mind. After the program, most of them experienced emotional relaxation, in which they had hopeful and positive view of their future, and relieved their anxiety in mind. Especially, the participants showed positive and progressive way of thinking, caring about others and accepting their surroundings affirmatively.
