본 연구의 목적은 인구이동의 주요 연령층인 20~30대 청년층 인구이동의 특징을 살펴보고 2000년대 이후 이들 청년층의 인구이동 패턴의 특징에 대해 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 또한 저성장 경제 안에서 청년층이 경험하는 고용형태의 변화가 이들의 취업이동에 있어서의 의사결정에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 수 있을지에 대한 분석을 시도하고자 한다. 최근의 저성장 경제 안에서의 취업이동 패턴을 분석하기 위해 본 연구에서는 2000년대 이후 취업집단에 주목하였으며 개인의 출신지역, 대학진학지역, 취업지역 등의 정보를 파악할 수 있는 종횡단조사 자료와 여성 청년층을 대상으로 한 설문지조사 결과를 활용하였다. 종횡단자료를 통해 지방출신자의 대학 진학지의 지역별 이동 패턴을 파악하였으며, 첫 일자리 취업시에 발생한 지역별 인구이동 패턴을 분석하였고 그 결과 2000년대 이후 지방출신자의 수도권으로의 취업이동은 2000년대 이전 취업을 하는 코호트 집단에 비해 크게 감소하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 이러한 취업이동의 감소 원인으로 불안정 고용형태에 주목하였고 취업이동과 고용형태에 대한 설문조사를 실시한 결과 취업이동의 의사결정에 불안정 고용형태의 저임금, 신규취업에 있어서의 불안정 고용형태의 전국적 확산, 정규직 고용형태로의 낮은 고용전환률이 영향을 미치고 있음을 파악할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this research is to find out the relationships between the migration for employment and the unstable work status of young women in Korea. To analyze the migration pattern the longitudinal data from ‘the Korean Labor Panel and Income Study’ have been used. As the result, the migration rate to Seoul Metropolitan area at first employment of young women who enter the labor market since 2000 has decreased to 10%. As the migration rate had been maintained around 30 % for more than 20 years in Korea, this rapid decrease of migration rate means a important change in Korean society. Also to find out the relationships between the low migration pattern for employment and the unstable work status the questionnaire survey has been done. Asking 108 women the migration decision-making related to their employment status, almost all of the women have shown that they do not want to move to another region or SMA if they have to work in unstable work status with low income, high expense for daily life and low possibilities of employment status transition to permanent in another region.
