이 연구는 발달장애인의 중등이후교육에 관한 방향성을 탐색하기 위하여 특수교사와 장애학생 보호자 간의 중등이후교육에 관한 필요성과 운영에 관한 요인, 활성화방안에 관한 인식의 차이를 알아보고 향후 방향성을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 대구·경북지역의 발달장애학생을 지도하는 특수교사와 장애학생 보호자를 대상으로 중등이후교육 프로그램에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 장애학생 보호자와 특수교사 모두 발달장애인의 중등이후교육의 다양한 필요성을 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 중등이후교육의 운영요인에서는 장애학생 보호자와 특수교사의 의견이 운영환경, 통합형태, 교육연한, 비용부담, 교육대상, 스텝 요인에 있어서는 상이한 결과가 나타났으나 교육내용, 운영주체, 거취형태, 교육형태, 직업경험이나 기회제공, 지원서비스 영역에서는 일치하는 결과를 나타냈다. 셋째, 중등이후교육을 활성화하기 위해서는 국가의 재정적 지원과 책무성 강화, 다양한 형태의 전문교육기관과 교육비용 지원 및 교육관련 서비스 지원이 확대되어야 함을 알 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 발달장애인 중등이후교육 프로그램에 관한 시사점과 제언을 제시하였다.

This study examined the perception of special education teacher and parents groups regarding the necessities and requirements which the post-secondary education program for students with developmental disabilities, and suggested direction of the post-secondary education program for people with developmental disabilities. For the purpose, this research reviewed to theoretical background related the post-secondary education program for students with developmental disabilities and samples consisted 107 special education teachers and 114 parents who are residing in Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas were surveyed by questionnaire. The results of this study are as follows:First, the special education teachers and the parents perceived that post-secondary education programs for students with developmental disabilities is very necessary. Second, the government need to take responsibility and support funding for post-secondary education programs and operate a variety of views. Finally, the compare on the operating factors between the special education teachers and parents concerned shows that two groups have the difference of perceptions in some items. Both agreed on factor of curriculum, operating body, place of the living, type of operating, vocational experience, supportive service but disagreed on environment of operating, type of mainstream, period of training, staffs, funding, object of training.
