청소년의 사회기술을 다각적으로 이해하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 신경증, 부모와의 애착안정성, 주의조절, 공감을 연구변인으로 설정하여 사회기술과의 관계를 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 청소년의 신경증과 사회기술과의 관 계에서 주의조절과 공감이 매개하는지 살펴보았고, 부모와의 애착안정성과 사회기술과의 관계에서 주의조절과 공 감이 매개하는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울 지역의 중·고등학교 6곳에 재학 중인 749명(남학생 403명, 여학생 346명)을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과, 첫째, 청소년의 신경증이 낮을수록, 부모와의 애착안정성이 높을수록, 주의조절과 공감이 높을수록 사회기술이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 신경증과 사회기술과의 관계에서 주의조절이 유의하게 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 신경증의 직접적인 영향보다도 주의조절과 같은 인지적 요인을 통해 사회기술에 미치는 영향이 더 중요함을 의미한다. 셋째, 부모와의 애착안정성 과 사회기술과의 관계에서 주의조절과 공감이 모두 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 부모와 의 애착안정성의 직접적인 영향보다도 주의조절과 같은 인지적 요인 그리고 공감과 같은 정서적 요인을 통해 사회기술에 미치는 영향이 더 중요함을 의미한다. 본 연구는 서울에 위치한 중학교와 고등학교에서 편의 표집한 일반 청소년을 연구대상으로 하였기 때문에 그 밖의 지역이나 대상에 연구결과를 일반화하는데 제한점이 있다. 그러나 본 연구의 결과는 청소년의 사회기술 증진을 위한 교육 및 상담 그리고 프로그램의 개발에 시사점을 제공 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of neuroticism and attachment security on social skills in a sample of adolescents, and to investigate the mediating effects of attention control and empathy on the relationship between neuroticism and social skills, and attachment security and social skills. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the authors collected data from a total of 749 junior high and high school students. The findings of the study indicated as follows. First, when a correlation analysis was performed to explore the relationships between neuroticism, attachment security, attention control, empathy, and social skills, the findings showed that attachment security, attention control, empathy were positively related to social skills. Meanwhile, neuroticism was negatively associated with social skills. Second, the structural equation modeling and bootstrapping analysis were conducted to test mediating effects of the attention control and empathy on the relationship between neuroticism and social skills. And the results revealed that the attention control mediated the relationship between neuroticism and social skills. Third, the structural equation modeling and bootstrapping analysis were performed to test mediating effects of attention control and empathy on the relationship between attachment security and social skills. The outcomes indicated that the attention control and empathy mediated the relationship between attachment security and social skills. Implications of the study findings and suggestions for future research are addressed.
