본 연구는 자기심리학적 관점에서 지각된 부모의 양육태도와 자기파편화의 관련성을 살펴보고 이 과정을 자기구조와 방어기제가 매개하는지 확인하였다. 이를 위해 부모의 정서적 거부와 무관심이 자존감, 무기력감, 수치심으로 개념화한 자기구조 결함과 표상왜곡, 감정조절로 평가한 방어기제를 매개로 정서조절, 충동조절, 대인관계문제로 평가한 자기파편화에 직·간접적으로 영향을 미치는 경로구조모형을 검증하였다. 20대 남녀 495명(N=495)의 자기보고 자료를 분석한 결과 지각된 부모양 육태도가 자기구조와 방어기제를 부분 매개로 자기파편화에 영향을 미치는 경로구조모형의 적합도 가 가장 좋게 나왔다. 본 연구결과 부모의 정서적 거부와 무관심이 자기파편화의 원인요인인 것으로 나왔다. 한편 자존감, 무기력감과 수치심으로 평가한 자기구조 결함은 지각된 부모의 양육태도가 자기파편화에 영향을 미치는 과정을 부분 매개하는 것으로 나왔다. 부모양육태도는 자기구조 결함을 통해 방어기제에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 방어기제는 자기구조 결함이 자기파편화에 미치는 영향을 부분 매개하였다. 본 연구결과의 상담적 함의와 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

This study attempted to find a pathway of influence among perceived parenting attitude, self structure, defense mechanism, and fragmenting self tendency. Self-report questionnaires from a sample of 495(N=495) adults in their 20``s were used in the data analyses using the SPSS 18.0 and the AMOS 18.0. The Korean version of the Defense Mechanism Questionnaire-60, which was translated for the current study was included in the survey. Results indicated that the influence of perceived parenting attitude on fragmenting self tendency was mediated by self structure and defense mechanism. Implications of current findings in terms of the cohesive self structure as a protective factor for fragmenting self tendency are discussed. Intervention strategies for defense mechanism regarding image distorting and affect dysregulation for clients with fragmenting self tendency were discussed. Limitations of current study and suggestions for future investigations are included in the discussion.
