The purpose of this thesis is to understand the relationship among self-resilience, stress-coping strategies, and self-integration in the elderly and to clarify whether the stress-coping strategies mediate the relationship between self-resilience and self-integration. For the research, Self-Integration Scale(Jeon Jeong-A, 2006) which Kim Jeong-Soon (1988) had developed and Jeon Jeong-A had modified, Adaptation Flexibility(Im Seong-Suk, Kim Jin-Suk, 2009), Scale about Individual Coping Style, and Stress-Coping Strategies Scale(Yoon Hyeon-Hee, 1994) based on Scale of Kim Myeong-Ja(1991) were conducted on 198 people with their ages over 65 in two community welfare center of Kyeonggi-do. The results are as follows. First, There was a high correlation between self-resilience and self-integration. Also, there was a static correlation between stress-coping strategies and self-integration. Especially, supportive relationship and positive attitude which are the sub-variances of self-resilience showed high correlation with self-integration. Also, passive evasion, problem reestablishment, and coping strategies of emotional expression which are sub-variances of stress-coping strategies showed a static correlation with self-integration. However, there was not any correlation between religious tendency and self-integration. Second, there was a significant mediative effect of stress-coping strategies in the relationship between self-resilience and self-integration. The passive evasion, the problem reestablishment, and the coping strategies of emotional expression were identified as having mediative effect on the part between self-resilience and self-integration, but dependency on one``s religion had no mediative effect. In conclusion, there was static correlation among self-resilience, stress-coping strategies, and self-integration. The stress-coping strategies could be seen as mediating the relation between self-resilience and self-integration. According to these research results, to improve self-integration, education and consultive intervention are needed. These measures will improve self-resilience of the seniors and change self-coping strategies in better ways. Lastly, the limitations of this research and future research tasks were discussed.
