이 연구의 목적은 효과적인 스피치 운영에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 판단되는 리더십 역량과 선행 연구를 통해 확인된 두 가지 주요 변인인 의사소통 불안, 의사소통 성향을 각각 추출하여 이들 간의 상관성을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 토대로 개별적이면서도 보편적인 의사소통 성향 인식의 중요성을검증하고 리더십, 스피치를 포함한 소프트 스킬 교과목의 설계와 개발에 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 국내 선행 연구를 고찰한 결과 대학생의 리더십과스피치 관련 주요 변인 간의 관계를 분석한 연구는 있으나 아직 충분히 누적된 연구가 없으며 특히 공학인의 리더십과 스피치 관련 변인의 영향력을 종합적으로 분석한 연구는 찾아보기 힘들다. 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 대학생의 리더십은 성별, 학년에 따른 차이,의사소통 불안은 성별, 학년에 따른 차이, 언어적 공격 성향은 성별에 따른차이가 유의하였다. 반면 논쟁 성향은 성별, 전공별, 학년에 따른 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 또한, 리더십, 의사소통 불안, 논쟁 성향, 언어적 공격 성향 간의 상관관계가 확인되었다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships between leadership in college students and speech related variables such as communicative apprehension and communicative traits. According to the examination of domestic studies concerning the leadership and factors related to speech, few studies have focused on these relationships. This study was conducted with 323 engineering students and 131 humanities college students at P University. Findings showed that firstly, there were significant gender and grade differences in leadership of college students. Second, there were significant gender and grade differences in communicative apprehension. Third, there were significant gender differences in verbal aggressiveness. However, there were no significant gender, grade and major differences in argumentativeness. Besides, we found a high correlation among leadership, communicative apprehension and communicative traits. From these findings, it is needed to refine the instructive modules of speech as well as verify their validities.
