이 논문은 조양보 에서 가정학 교과서를 번역하여 연재했음을 학계에 최초로 보고했으며, 번역의 저본이 된 한문 번역본의 역자가 중국인 일본유학생 단체인 작신사(作新社)임도 밝혔다. 이 한문 번역본의 다양한 유통 과정을 조명하여 저본 대비를 통해 근대의 새로운 지식이 번역되어 다양하게 수용된 경로를 조명했다. 시모다 우타코의 신선가정학 을 한문으로 번안한 작신사의 가정학교과서는 계몽기의 한국에서 다양하게 수용되었으며 이는 시대적 전환을 보여주는 사례이다. 그리고 그 번안의 과정에서 드러난 가정(家政)에 대한 한중일의 인식 차이는 재고할 여지가 많다. 또한 조양보 , 호남학보 연재본 및 현공렴 발행본 등, 다양한 판본 사이에 드러나는 번역 양상의 차이는 근대 지식을 번역하고 수용하던 계몽기 당대의 생생한 현장을 보여주는 것으로서 사료적 가치가 충분하다.
This paper is the first report in Korean academic world informs the translation of home economics textbook in Joyangbo, magazine in modern enlightenment era and also determines co-working translaters, the Society of New Rise, Chinese abroad students academy as Joyangbo translation`s original script, Chinese translate edition of Newly Edited Home Economics by Shimoda Utako. The Chinese translated edition of Shimoda`s textbook is widely circulated in Korean modern enlightenment era. The process of translation and circulation reveals cognitive differences about home economics among Korea, Japan and China. In addition, diverse publishing texts, textbooks and serials in magazine, Joyangbo and Honamhakbo present the live Korean adoptional scenery of modern sciences in enlightenment era.
