본 연구의 목적은 디지털환경이 도입된 가로환경에 대한 물리적·행태적 변화를 관찰하고 보행자의 만족도를 조사하여 분석함으로서 향후 가로에 적용되는 미디어 폴(Media Pole)의 디자인과 배치의 방향을 제시하고자 함이다. 연구 방법은 공간구문론(Space Syntax) 방법론을 통해 대상지의 접근성 및 가시성의 변화에 대해 살펴보고 행태변화의 관찰과 설문지를 통해 미디어 폴 및 가로환경 개선 사업 전·후를 비교, 분석하는 것이다. 이와 같은 방법으로 분석한 결과 대상지의 중간지점을 기점으로 저층부의 성격, 통행량, 접근성의 차이가 나타나고 있지만, 미디어 폴은 이러한 가로특성과 상관없이 일률적으로 배치되어 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 가로환경에 도입되는 미디어 폴이 가로특성과 보행자, 주변 환경에 맞는 디자인과 배치가 이루어진다면 가로환경의 개선이 동시에 이루어져 보행자의 안전은 물론 가로 문화의 활성화가 가능할 것이다.

In The purpose of this study is to examine physical and behavioral changes of street environment under digital environment and to investigate pedestrians` satisfactions and to suggest designs and layout of media pole applied to the streets in the future. The space syntax methodology was used to investigate access of target area as well as changes of the visibility and to watch changes of the behavior. The questionnaires were used to investigate before and after media pole and street environment improvement project. The findings were as follow: The lower story area`s characteristics, traffic and access had difference based on middle point, and the media pole was found to be placed uniformly regardless of such street characteristics. And, the study investigated satisfactions to examine results of street environment improvement project that was made by media pole installation: The pedestrians` satisfaction of media pole itself was high, while that of street environment was low. The existing Gangnamdaero was active due to high access and many temporary population, and it created uncomfortable walking because of reckless street furniture and unauthorized occupation of both roadway and footpath to jeopardize even pedestrians` safety. When the media poles that are installed in streets shall be placed to meet designs under street characteristics, pedestrians and surrounding environment, the street environment can be improved to promote pedestrians` safety as well as street culture.
